Digital Key setup 2025 Laramie

Hi everybody, RAM Dealer here. We just received this communication from corporate and I wanted to share here for others who might find this forum via Google, as some of our customers have while also seeking an answer on the digital key.

Curious if you have any new information now that were more than halfway through April and I don't know anyone who received this update. Still waiting to be able to setup my phone as a key...

Something interesting is that I clearly remember there was a "digital key" tab in the RAM app one I first launched it when I took the delivery, and that tab was gone right after I paired it with the truck

It looks like Ram removed the smartphone as a key feature from their website under Laramie Level 2 package. You will have to go to a Rebel or Limited for it now. I wonder if us Laramie owners will still get the update for it.

I wonder if us limited owners will ever get it. Could be they updated the website details for the Laramie first and will update the website for the limited later.

Agree. There were a couple of features that really drew me to this truck. Trailer surround view cameras, auto park, and the smart phone as a key. All advertised heavily. All now MIA.

Update: I received my 2nd update just yesterday. Same message, should be at home, cannot drive it, 26 minutes, etc. I didn't see any new tile show on my iPhone app, nor did I see an update to the UConnect version. Hopefully this 2nd rounds of updates are being rolled out to everyone and we are inching closer to enabling this feature! The dealer communications shared earlier in this thread stated there would be up to 3 updates. 2 down, hopefully 1 to go!

Yet another lucky one getting updates! I haven't received any updates. I wonder how long the line for OTA updates really is to the back end, where I appear to be placed for any UC update!

Another update. Just moments ago this morning after parking at work, I received another 26 minute update. There were a couple of things different to note. First, all my other updates happened after I got home and parked. I had assumed this may be based on location, knowing my location and that I am home would be more likely that a 26 minute update which doesn't allow you to drive, etc. would be easier at the owner's home. Today's update was after arriving at work so that's different. Second, all prior updates were displayed on a black background. Today's update the display background was light. This may be due to time of day, but I'm not certain. I am hoping this latest update somehow unlocks the Smartphone as Key option.

I had this FOTA 26 minute update yesterday as I parked at work but haven't checked what it did. Prior to this update, my phone app has been able to remote start, lock and unlock the truck. I have not seen the key but now I will go digging.

When you open the Ram app, you'll see your miles to empty, to the right of that is the Report tile, to the right of that is the Digital Glovebox. The pairing tile for digital key will eventually be to the right of this (my best guess based on what others have said). I really think we're waiting for an update on the Ram app from 1.98.1 but I suppose it's possible the new tile shows up without a completely new version. Everything on the truck itself is already there.

Let's see if anyone else starts to see these OTA updates.
