What did you do to your Ram today???

what would you recommend?

Bilsteins.

I've ran the Ironman stuff on a previous Tacoma. They are STIFF but a decent company.

All the other stuff as mentioned is for the "overlanders" so to speak. If you just want a simple level, Bilstein with a small rake so it's not too stiff is the way to go.

the carli, thuren, king, fox 2.5 are not really for "overlanders" per se, though a lot of overlanders use them.
i use them because i go fast, and i've blown my bilsteins going fast on my 4R before.

Not today per se but over the past week I've done a bit of modding. I've had this truck for a few years now so it was time to show her some love.

Dipped the tailgate emblem

Swapped the stock cap on the rotary dial for a stainless steel one. Put some blue card stock behind it to give it a bit of color

Installed an AVS Bugflector II. Scored it on clearance at Fleet Farm for only $32 so I was pretty happy with that

Your bugflector looks lightyears better than mine in the middle. Mine is not really noticeably warped but it's definitely not the indent shape and more rounded, and I had to return the first one because it was really bad. The AVS window deflectors I had were pure trash too. I've had nothing but issues with that company for the past couple vehicles and I refuse to buy from them again. Back in the days of Pep-Boys being fun to shop at, they used to be a good brand. Now they are like 1/4th decent quality and the rest are crap. Looks like you got really lucky.

Weird, I've never had an issue with anything from AVS and I've been using their bug deflectors for years. I've had one of their bug deflectors on every truck I've owned. My only gripe with this one was that the little rivet screws are really a pain in the butt to get to go in correctly but that could've been more operator error than anything admittedly. I usually use their vent visors as well on my windows but my last truck had EGR in-channel visors, and I bought this truck very lightly used and it came with a set of Stampede stick ons so I haven't messed with them. Guess maybe I have been lucky in regards to the AVS.

AVS has never been a high quality product, and the price shows it. I bought a set of their window visors for a car so had back in 2009, and they were cheap and flimsy never even put them on the car. Have bought bought any other ÀVS product because of that

I've had good luck with AVS over the years. Guess luck of the draw.

Unfortunatley their QC has gone down the drain. The rivet things are like that in pretty much everything they make now or they just don't line up at all. Had that issue with a couple FORD's and the reports from other users were the same. Same with a previous Tacoma.

It's because most people have gone the route of those adhesive style ones and they are cheaper for them to make. Even the other brands like EGR suffer the same issues. And if they get some that are poorly manufactured, rather than recall them they just move on so if you buy from somewhere like Amazon it's luck of the draw if you get old stock or the new ones that are supposed to have those issues addressed (most don't anyways).

Over the years they used to be great but in the past 4 or 5 years, not so much. O well.

I've used AVS in channel vent visors on most of my previous rides, and they've been great, which is why I got them for the Ram. Not so great this time as they began bowing inwards in the middle. Not a big enough deal to replace them yet, but still a bit disappointing.

I've had AVS in-channel visors on my 2012 Pathfinder for over 10 years without issues.

I've gone through three types/model AVS in-channel on my RAM. 1st set (194818 $56)- like you, it warped in the middle after a few months. 2nd set (194557 $50) - fit was not perfect in the rear window and kept falling off. 3rd set (994064 low profile $20) - the fit sucked, and windows wouldn't go up. Threw all of them in the garbage.

I guess when you start off with better quality products, stepping down to AVS is disappointing. If all you have ever used is AVS or similar quality, you don't realize how cheap they really are

OR AVS was great quality and as others have mentioned went downhill over time like a lot of products.

you'll argue anything :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I stated an opinion based on personal experience. You are the one who started the argument saying it used to be "great quality". Unless you actually have something useful to offer to this discussion, head back to the peanut gallery.

I, as others talked of personal experience. Maybe you should head back to the peanut gallery. You love to argue and dispute everything and other have mentioned the same.

Back on ignore.

Have a good day!
