What did you do to your Ram today???

Oil change at Take 5 with the bulk synthetic and cheap filter, $21 less than the dealer charges ($89 vs $110). Same 19 year olds doing the change.
Always have to wipe the grubby oil handprints off the hood and inside on the engine plastics.
I usually get at least 1 change at the dealer in case theres a TSB or recall to do.

Today’s project was the first one I do with every vehicle. Debadging. However I’m undecided on whether to get rid of the rear RAM or not.

Edit: after thinking about it, I think I’m gonna leave it. Unless I can get rid of the one in the front. Just seems to look better.
Not a fan of the big black RAM tailgate letters, but didn't want to fuss with filling holes/paint. Found these vinyl overlays which I'm pretty happy with.

Installed these Husky mudflaps on the front last night. My previous white truck had a tonnnnnn of stone chips in the rockers and even the rear fender flares, so I'm hoping that this alleviates a bit of that. I'm content with the look - it's neither an aesthetic upgrade or downgrade imo.

I have the husky flaps on the front and rear. They lasted the winter wonderfully and made a huge difference in spray along the side of the truck. Youll be pleased

Likely modified sine outlets though… be careful using them for any sensitive electronics.
I have an inexpensive <$50 (verified pure sine wave ) Bestech 300 watt adapter for specialized usage. I don't pull the full 300 watts though.
oh yeah i never use the onboard inverter. advertised 110v 400w or something but never actually got that much.
personally i just use my ecoflow delta 2. i only use AC power when running my starlink gen 2 and everything else is 12v DC, including the fridge.

Time for that Power Wagon
i was SO CLOSE to a free power wagon last night when going home at 3AM.
some dumb/ drunk MFer was trying to run me off the freeway. I spotted in the mirror the guy swerving into my lane next to the truck bed and I moved into the lane on the other side, probably scared the semi driver behind. then after the MFer pulled back to his lane he sped off and then turned off his lights trying to get away.

i wasn't about to deal with getting wrecked on a freeway at 3AM... else i'd be ordering one today.

Starlink is a bit of a hog power wise isn’t it?
Edit. I use an Oupes 1800 and an off brand 12v compressor fridge/freezer on trips. Most hotel mini fridges don't have a freezer so I use the freezer there. Recharge the Oupes overnight so its good to go the next day. Otherwise its use the Bestech and ac power block while driving.

This is a link the guy who turned me on to them and why he uses them, which is what I'm using them.

I bought a set of ebay mounts, and they don't fit level, but I think it helps in what I'm using them for. It tips the beam so that the main light pattern runs further down the road.
Are you running spot or driving?

I currently have lasfits highest level ditch light and they leave a lot on the table to be desired.

I’m thinking I need more of a driving light

Mictuning 8 gang switch panel. Install came out real clean. Once I finish adding most of my device wiring I'll clean up the engine bay wiring really well.

I have some Auxbeam chase lights to mount on the front of the bed facing rearward, just waiting on my NH Overland mounting brackets to come in.

Got my 2nd rock chip in the windshield today... oncoming traffic nobody in front of me. The 1st one was the previous owner and they did a terrible patch job with 3 small drill points, but I drove in to the local shop and had the new one patched up and thankfully it's on the top of the passenger side.

Montana roads suck

I got four rock chips on my windshield in the first two years I had it. Haven't had anymore in last two years.

...called a local dealer to see if I could get it in to be checked for a leaking transfer case.
It's strange, just a month ago I stopped at this RV park on our way to Gulfport and discovered the oil filter gasket leaking.
This time, again while unhooking the trailer, I noticed splattering on the front of the trailer again.
I checked undernieth, and found the transfer case covered with gear oil.
I have no idea where it's coming from.
The dealership service dept is booked out to April, but the oil and lube dept also does repair work and they will take a look at it and we'll go from there....

I swear some vehicles just attract it more than others. I had an F150 that was prone to it. Every time I replaced the windshield it would happen again. Next couple vehicles nothing happened. Then I pick a used RAM up with a chip already in it and I'm back to attracting rocks :ROFLMAO:

about 50-60w or so. totally fine for the ecoflow's 110v AC outlet (you got 6 of them bad boys to choose from, 2 of them are pure sine wave)
The power hogging phase is when you have it first booted up and the motorized antenna is looking for the satellite and if you have the self heating function on (can go up to 175w or so). Other than that, my Delta 2 (about 1200wh of capacity) is perfectly fine to run it for 12 hours or more, including DC output to run the fridge (AC and DC can be used at the same time). I also have the add-on battery that holds about 2048wh of capacity, combined, i have 3248wh of capacity inside the cab. Depends on the need, I can charge DJI Mavic Mini 4 pro batteries (3 of them), DJI Pocket 3 w/ battery grip, DJI Action 4, iPad Mini/ samsung tablet (depends on which one I was not using at camp at the time), and Canon DSLR battery (AC power) while simultaneously running the fridge and starlink.
Then, I charge all that back in about 4-5 hours of driving (if completely depleted, though that never happened. I set the Delta to turn off at 15% capacity so I have reserve capacity to stow the starlink) using Victron DC-DC charger direct wired to the battery. The ecoflow never leaves the truck. I even built a floor plate just so i can strap them down so they don't go anywhere while boogie in the desert.

If I upgrade to the Starlink Mini, I'd probably let go the Ecoflow and throw in a 200AH LiFEPO4 in there, since the whole purpose for running Ecoflow is for the AC power that runs Starlink Gen 2. Sure, there's DC conversion kit for the Gen 2, but I'm too lazy to deal with that and try to devise a way to hard mount the dish so I can run it while driving. But with Mini, it accepts DC as power source (not that i can run it while driving anyways... it competes with wireless carplay for phone) so just hook it to 12v LiFEPO4 works perfectly fine, then i just add a bunch of USB-C port for all the charging needs.

I also have a 100AH LiFEPO4 in the camper/ bed that powers RGBW camper and tent lights (2 separate circuits that can be controlled individually or controlled together via bluetooth), my diesel heater, and laptop and other USB-C devices when I'm working in there. It is charged by a DC-DC w/ MPPT, since I got 2x 200w Bouge RV solar panels on the roof of the camper/ tent. If I am parked for days, I just divert one panel to the Ecoflow and I can charge both fully in a full day.

just go Baja Designs man... those are also china brand i highly doubt they gonna be any better.
remember, lighting output always look better in photos, unless the photographer took the time and energy to adjust camera settings to match what the eyes see.

I can hook you up, just so you get the good stuff.

reminded me of that time on the Dempster... some oncoming F150 intentionally drove through the mud pile in the middle of the road and splashed my entire windshield and driver side with mud. I even heard small rock impacts on the windshield and the body. luckily no damage.
i was livid when it happened... I survived Alcan, Dalton, Denali, and Top of the World where most people got their rock chips with ZERO incident and it was down to the last half of the trip that it happened.

edit - add more story:
the ONLY chip I got was hitting a thick branch going highway speed on a trail somewhere outside of Yosemite. I was going fast, my prerunner/ trail lead was distracted by his girl, so I had no idea the tree branch was sticking out and by the time I saw it it was too late. I hit it with my Baja Design ditch light took most of the impact got knocked sideways and sent the broken branch into my windshield and left a chip, but nothing else happened (well, aside from scuff on the hood). The SDHQ mount was scratchless and didn't even budge, the plastic cover on the BD ditch light was not even cracked. I turned the light back, and it fired up like normal. I couldn't help but think I'd probably have a broken or cracked windshield that could cut the trip way short that day if I ran the cheap flimsy brackets or cheap china lights.

The chip didn't further develop until almost a year later, when I decided to polish my windshield because it has this layer of oil film that I couldn't get rid of. That made the chip develop into a crack, so I had the windshield replaced shortly after.

Did you do the whole sanding and polish thing to your windshield? I had one like that and was contemplating doing it but ended up just getting rid of the truck anyways.
