That picture was actually when I was picking it up from a guy in Virginia. I always liked them in my high school/college days, but never had one so I decided I cant' leave the earth without having experienced one. It's nearly forty years old, so it doesn't ride like a modern vehicle, but it handles great and I agree on the body style. Next to the ride of the Ram, it's basically like being in a go kart!
I get that “go kart” feeling completely! I have two one posted earlier makes more than enough power for its weight and kills you with its suspension, while the other has its 71 stock hp and is far more comfortable to drive but just as fun in its way. Neither is like the RAM though in ride quality

While I was never a CRX guy back in the day, I think it's awesome to see people keeping the older cars alive and out there. If I go to a Cars and Coffee, I'd spend more time looking at cars like yours than a Porsche, etc...I get that “go kart” feeling completely! I've only browser it from the dealer home, about an hour and a half on back roads, no we both or anything and it felt and tracked solid.
I head out at the first of the month for a shake down run to the Gulf, and trying it out for a month.
Fixing little things I've discovered while getting ready.
Its smal!er than out last rig, but very usable!e and so far we really like it!

Ill be running an Anderson WD hitch, which I hope to set up tomorrow.

Installed and set up the Anderson Hitch. It works well.
I test drove it with and without it hooked up and could really tell
a deference for the better.
EASY disconnect when done.
It did shift the weight as advertised. I'm looking forward to hitting the road with it.

Nice! I wanted to switch to one of those, but am worried that it cannot shift enough weight to the front. I'm probably sitting around 800-1000lb tongue weight.

Well, we made it to the Gulf.
We took 3 days for the trip here. The truck did great other than fighting 25 mph winds and gust the first two days. Day 3 was a pleasure.
According to the truck, averaged 7.3mpg.
@Ramfancy , we are really enjoying the rig.
I’m not at all a fan of the “on demand hot water”. If you don’t plan to boondocks, it would be fine.
Still on the fence about the 12v compressor fridge.
Before we left, I found the freezer door wasn’t locking. I started to mod the latch then noticed it was assembled wrong. There is a small plastic washer on the upper door mount, doing nothin so I swapped it to the bottom mount which raised the door a bit and now the latch is great.
We’ve got one slide window that doesn’t work right, so I’ll get in touch with the mfg to address that.
The Anderson Hitch works very well on this trailer.
I weighed the set up mid trip.
As a side not, I’ve installed Cargo Master +70% coils in the rear after towing our big trip last year.
I also run E rated tires and pumped those baby’s way up mid trip and that helped a lot. I’m not sure I’ll go with E rated tires next go around….
We’ve hung a curtain across the foot of the bed so light isn’t to bad for some sleeping and the other person not.
I was a bit worried about lack of storage, but it hasn’t been an issue. In fact, there is a crazy amount of storage in the sleeping area.
Overall, I’m very happy with this setup!

That sounds great! I’m glad you are getting all the kinks worked out!
How did the rig handle in the wind? I’m also interested in the Anderson hitch. It looks so easy and light.
Also interested in why you are down on the e rated tires. I was looking to get them myself. I did on my last ram and it killed my mileage, but I also went up a couple of sizes….

Spends too much time on here
Just got a brand new 2023 Yamaha Waverunner VX Cruiser HO. It's technically 2 years old, but has never been in the water. The previous owner bought it as a spare ski and never used it, now getting a boat so he needed the space. Only about 1,100 lbs ski and trailer, so not exactly impressive thing to tow, I'm sure our Toyota C-HR would have no issues towing it.

@Ramfancy the truck handles it very good for a half ton. I I could get a great deal on a2500, I’d go for it I think. I used to have a Ram 3500.
The Anderson hitch isn’t as light as I thought, but it’s easy to set up, then disconnecting and connecting are pretty easy, you just need to be straight in line with the trailer. It’s also doesn’t need any lube!
As far as the tires, I usually run them at about 55/65psi.
At that pressure they do well but I after last years trip I began to think they needed to be ran at a higher psi.
I tested the theory this time and half way thru this dive I maxed the psi and could tell a difference in the handling with the wind..but it rides rough.
They are very heavy though, and with a standard load range tire would still handle ok maybe and save a good amount of weight. There’s still many miles left on the E rated tires so……
@Gren71 after adding a RC level to the front and the Cargo Masters on the rear, it’s close to a 3” lift I think.
I really like the set up. I need to update my sig with the stuff I’ve done to the truck.
OH… the rear spring upgrade is by far the best change I made to the truck!

One of many tows with this truck so far. 1975 Dodge Dart Sport. I picked it up in Newport WA, and brought it back to WI.
