Hi all,
Newbie Ram owner here. Just bought my first 2023 1500 Bighorn after flipping from another brand. I absolutely love the truck... only problem is... 20 miles into my trip home from the dealer, I started getting a "Service Shifter" message on my dash. I was like huh... thats cool. It's telling me that it's helping my shifting? After a few more miles of it coming on and off I said to myself.. oh.. thats a problem. Finally pulled it into my driveway for the first time ever and noticed a "Park Sense temporarily disabled" message on my dash and then realized my park sense switches would not turn on.
Called the dealer the next morning and they took it in that Friday. Long story short... its been at the dealers service department for going on 4 weeks now.
I keep calling the service department to ask them what's wrong... what they found out... where they are at... I get nothing from them... very tight lipped. They just say there is a STAR case open and they are at the mercy of the Stellanis engineers getting back to them.
So I opened a case with @RamCares to see if they can provide me any information on the STAR case... waiting on feedback from them.
Overall, this has been a terrible experience for someone jumping onto a new brand for the first time. It's very discouraging... and to read all of the other horror stories of Rams sitting in the service department for weeks and months with STAR cases opened and nobody knows what's happening... doesn't help ease my concerns.
I feel like this is going straight to a Lemon Law and I absolutely don't want that to happen because I really just want the truck that I love back and put all this behind me...
I just wonder if there are any success stories out there that can make me feel a little more confident... about someone who actually had their truck successfully repaired after a STAR case was opened when nobody could figure it out?
I dont think I came across any of those stories in any of these forums.
