Just about to go down this path as well. Stupid Question. When you say it's 23% off MSRP, is that the price it gives you when you use the Ram Build and Price? Or was this a truck off the lot? I get confused between Invoice and MSRP and if you can get these same type of discounts when ordering from the factory?
Do your build on the website that is your MSRP.

Then take 23% off of that.
Invoice is less then MSRP, when you get a real actual quote you will see what invoice price is.

Neither of those matter to do, what matters is the price YOU are paying which should be below invoice (23% under MSRP is way under invoice).

The term invoice gets thrown around so much now and has really changed.
Used to be what the dealership was invoiced for the truck IE what THEY paid for it but over the years that is no longer true and dealerships pay well under invoice.

Invoice is the new MSRP.
MSRP is the new on the lot markup.
ADM (added dealer markup) is the new snake oil.

The only qualifier to the website build is they show you the 'net price' with random incentives applied so you need to click the info part to get tobthe MSRP or look at the summery to get it before taking the discount for the 23%. They try really hard to make it confusing!

Nice. I'm close to ordering a Laramie from Anthony as well. I also just picked up a set of BTS wheels off a 2023 with zero miles (they sold the tires off of them) and plan to put them on my Billet Silver night edition Laramie. When you say you went base wheels...was that an option? I thought the packages determined wheels.
I didn’t do any of the packages, so I didn’t have any upgraded wheels. I like the stand alone 20” upgrade options, had them on my 2019, but knew I wanted to try and get the BTS for this. Was lucky to get a good price, although I would have sat and waited and started extending my search if I had to. For an exact build, I went Laramie:
5.7L Hemi with eTorque
Anti-spin Diff
Class IV Receiver/Hitch
Advanced Safety Group (one must have)
Bed Utility Group
Laramie Level B (had to due to the Advanced Safety Group)
Multifunction Tailgate (the other must have)
Rear Wheelhouse-Liners
Mopar front and rear rubber floor mats
Cluster with 12-in TFT Color Display

That kept me with the 18-in wheels and, for my family, allowed me to keep the bench seat option which I wanted.

Darksteel165 nailed it. The only thing I would add is that this was on a factory order. I could only find a few trucks nationwide that had only what I wanted without adding other options that weren’t important to me. Mark Dodge started, right away via email, at 13% off MSRP on my custom build. Then stacked the 10% manufacturer rebate on top. And the were able to lock it in at order. So, worst case, I am at 23% off MSRP at delivery. And if by some chance they are really trying to move trucks and increase the incentives by the time my truck is delivered, they said I am able to take that if it is better than what was locked in.

This echos what many have previously said, but Anthony at Mark Dodge was a pleasure to work with. Very open in communication, provided feedback, and talked to me for 60-min via phone one Saturday to make sure my questions were answered. Not all dealers can operate like this, but I really appreciated how they did. I had a comparable offer from another dealer for an almost identical dealer closer to me, but I opted for Mark Dodge because they were open and honest from the start. That means something to me. Doesn’t hurt that 23% is amazing to me, and way better than I ever expected. I was going to wait a few more month, but not when that became the total discount.

I tried to get a 23 Laramie off the lot and mark dodge and was told no, the 23% off is on special order only. I asked about that and was told ram told them no more orders at 23% off? I also sent vin # and description of my trade, for the value of that and they never got back to me🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't know where they pull them big discounts up anyway.

At the end of the month, the dealer has gotta pay invoice minus holdback probably, so why does FCA care?

I bought a Laramie last week from Mark Dodge off the lot. Got the $15k off and it was a super easy transaction. By easy I mean I bought a truck over text message from my living room easy. Thankfully they're only an hour and a half from me. Worked with Shelton.

Hello, new here, I am looking into buying my first truck soon. You have been discussing 23% off MSRP. Just to be crystal clear that I am not misunderstanding I built on Ram's website a Laramie Night Edition with an Estimated Net Selling Price of $69,005. Does the 23% come off of this price which if I am not mistaken would bring the price of the truck to around $53,134. (i must be missing something..) If I am not misunderstanding this it seems like a crazy deal considering the used car market.

Close but not quite - The current Ram special is 10% off MSRP for Laramie's plus any dealer discount which varies by dealer but if you ordered from Mark Dodge would be another 13% for a total of 23% off MSRP. This would be calculated from the number without the bonus cash so on your build it would be 23% off $72,005 ($16,561.50) for a sales price of $55,443.85 plus TTL and you cannot use any other incentives with the exception of Affiliate and/or ram 1st responder or military. This price is also for purchase only (not lease) and cannot be combined with the Chrysler 2.9% offer. If you ordered from a different dealer it would be different numbers depending on their specific selling price etc.

Thank you! Still working on convincing my wife. So I may not be in the market until this fall November/December. I've never bought new before, but with the way the used truck market is, it's making me rethink new. I haven't paid close enough attention to the market trends, is May usually when we see significant deals or is it possible we will see similar deals in November/December thinking around that Black Friday time Frame. I'm hoping to have convinced my wife by then and It lands on my birthday to boot haha.

FCA had such a price increase from MY22 to MY23 any additional manufacturer rebates sort of negate the price change.

A 22 Ram 1500 Big Horn's base price increase over $4,000 compared to the MY23. Almost ever option sneaked in a small price change as well.

They're sending out them $1000 Private offers left and right because they know they already compensated for them in the price hike.

I even got a $1750 private offer in the mail 2 days ago. I ripped it up.

I don't personally think there is any certainty anymore on when the best time of year is to buy etc as the markets are so unstable and interest rates are high etc. Specifically for Ram and specifically for Laramies the deals on 2023 are pretty outstanding for May so only good for a purchase or order placed this month and then June incentives could be better or worse anyone's guess. Seems custom orders are generally better for getting a deal but you take a risk on where the used market will be when the order arrives - some take 2 months and some take 6 months. Another factor to consider on Ram is that they will be closing order banks on 2023 soon and then open 2024 ordering later this summer so if you want a custom order on a 2023 now is the time to act. My guess if you wait until November of December is you might find a good deal on a 2023 on a lot if it meets your needs since they will be trying to move them out to make room for 2024 models.

During this time, I think its truly is a "gamble" of when to wait and when to order. Its certainly been unpredictable in the last 2 years anyway.
No one can ever predict whether rebates will be better, the same, or lower than the previous month.
Can't imagine the price hikes on the 24's.

Agreed - I am going in to get my truck from the dealership today and can almost guarantee there will be some amazing new June incentive if I sign at the end of May!

One thing for sure not changing is MSRP going down.
People would need to stop buying new trucks for that to happen and it clearly isn't happening at least on a nation wide scale it seems.

Or they'll hold MSRP and just keep cutting out things. I haven't seen any discussion on this forum about the deletions, but can anyone confirm that their 2023 truck is missing the glove box light? There's a bunch of discussion on the TRX forum that the 2023's (and even some late 2022's) just have a plastic cover instead of a switched light. Here's a picture of mine, then a picture of the 2023 with nothing but a piece of plastic.

Yep, either way it's terrible

Once I install my TRX steering wheel ill be selling my Limited steering wheel since it has the "wood trim" which I guess was removed too.

Going from MY22 to MY23, Base Price on a 23 Big Horn 4x2 increased over $4,000. No, MSRP isn't going down.

Rebates haven't increased to compensate for the price hike either. Hell, a 23 Big Horn 4x4 is approaching $55-60K! Insane,.

That is a nice color - I went for my 4th Billet silver since I have a color match topper. I ended up with a great deal at 24% off MSRP plus approx $10k in equity from my 2021 for a total out the door financing of 48K on a 70k MSRP. Immediattely got my side steps, window vents and tow hooks on the new truck. I am really loving the HK stereo, 12" screen and the Adaptive cruise so far.
