How to Get the Best Price on Your New Ram

Thanks for all the great info on this post- I'm looking to purchase my first RAM 1500 as soon as I can find a great deal, and this thread has been super helpful.

Are people's experience here only with building/ordering a new truck from the factory, or are these discounts also available to be negotiated with inventory at the dealer?

Also, does anybody have a update on a recent discount off MSRP? The last I've seen is 23% - 24% in June/2023... and I image discounts may have got even better since then.

Mark Dodge has pretty much the same deals on in stock vehicles. Not quite as good as ordering, because they have to pay on every vehicle on the lot. If you order, they get that money right away, to pay for them, so give a little more discount. Just call them. Talk to Charles. Tell him you were told to talk to the 6'-3" guy. it's sort of an inside joke.

I talked to Charles yesterday, and told him, anyone asking for the 6'-3" guy named Charles, was one of my referrals. As you can see in the picture, he's more like 5'-6".

I am buying another truck so I may be updating this for the first time since 2022. Any good new information I should add?

Thanks for bumping this thread. I have a couple questions:

The company I work for is an FCA Affiliate (fleet). Does this do anything for me as an individual buyer of a new 2025?

If the answer to the above question is yes, is that in addition to the Tread Lightly discount of 1% off invoice?

Thanks for the awesome post, it used it back in the end of 2021 to get an awesome deal on my 22.
TBH it seems like it's really just going from the few volume dealerships like Mark Dodge and seeing what can stack.
Things like FCA Affiliate 1% under discount get refused from local dealerships around me, and with other dealerships they sometimes take an extra 1% off from what they have given you which is under 1% under invoice anyways (I believe mine was a flat $500 off with the Affiliate code at the time early 2022 for pickup).

Also looking around and sending out bulk emails to dealerships saved me a bunch of time and BS, but I think it's better to start with a quote from Mark Dodge and go from there

The Tread Lightly discount is the same you get an an FCA Affiliate.
This is the website you would log onto to get your code for the discount

When I got mine, they said affiliate can't be stacked. Tread lightly is an affiliate. Mark dodge gave me a price better than actual employee price. Having friends and family, local, they wanted $6,000 more than MD.

As a former dealer myself, I know there's a way to save lots of time and money....
No visits, emails, or phone calls to a list of dealers. Never talk to internet sales as it costs more...

Instead, start with a call to Anthony at Mark Dodge and have him price your build. You can compare his quote with a few of the other high volume dealers across the country, listed above.

Recently I did just that and none could beat MD. My local mega Ram dealer claimed he'd lose $3k at MDs price, though I think it was false.

The biggest advantage of dealing with MD is they clearly seek out and outline ALL available rebates, even applying for you. Really. Many dealers, even big boys play games on rebates, and at a minimum are not forthcoming on rebates. It makes me wonder if some don't pocket them!

Shop smart. Save yourself most all those bulk emails, phone calls, or visits!

(I'm not connected with MD, but recently got 22% off on an ordered 24 Laramie. Smokin deal! 25s will be different.)

Another happy purchaser from Mark Dodge here.

Bought my 2021 from another dealer...who was able to go below MD's price, but that individual was soon thereafter separated from that dealership. Guess I got the "out the door" special! ;) )
Bought my son's 2022 from MD. Based on my previous discussion with my 2021 purchase, my 2022 purchase literally took one email with MD.

If/when I get another one...Mark Dodge.

Here is one of my initial low offers for 7/31/24.

2024 RAM 2500 TRADESMAN CREW CAB 4X2 8' BOX HEMI
MSRP $53,290
Dealer Offer $46,211 before incentives.
This is 13.28% off MSRP

Is this discount considered good at this time?
The last time I bought a truck in early 2021 my discount was 19.17% off MSRP using the information in this guide.

Anyone have a current POC for Mark Dodge?
I bought my 2025 Laramie from Mark Dodge it was a painless process everything done online & zoom call. They deliver for free w/in 200 mile radius.
The MSRP was $66;665 they gave me $14,000 out the door I paid 56577.06 , but I received a refund check for about $650 a month after. I can’t remember what I was overcharged for however it was a nice surprise. The local dealers, even the largest Ram dealer in greater Houston told me BS that no one can give a $14k discount. I seen recent adds from them looks like they are giving up to $16k discounts now.
I purchased an extended Mopar warranty from Ziegler Ram - Mopar Max Care 8 yrs 125k miles for $3000 they were far cheaper than granger & other on-line dealer offers & $1k less that buying from Stellantis.
The rep I worked with is Jordan Plumley 337-240-2665.
