ok just programmed the speedo to reflect the upsized tires.
Given that I have a 2022, it was a lot easier compared to pre-22.

All I did was choosing the pre-existing Toyo ATII 35x12.5R18 instead of doing the calculation myself. Figured that would save me some issues having to deal with learning ABS, parking sensors, etc.
Entire process took me just a few minutes.

Next, figuring out the relationship and settings for:
when low tire pressure warning comes up - I would like to set this to 25 or somehing - my offroad pressure
when the truck honks when airing back up - I would like to set this to 40 all around, can always adjust accordingly when I do chalk test.

I will post the above questions in alfaobd thread and hopefully someone can help out.

Well I switched out my lower solid grill for the see through grill today and put in my @Shifts And Grins Fab A-Pillar mounts and LED Light Bar mount just waiting for my lights to come in on Saturday and I’ll finish the install. Now it’s time to give her a bath and put on my vinyl decals from The OverLay Guy.
Nice!!!!

sPod or switch-pro only
sPod because it's the same company as BD
switch-pro because:
  • it's made in USA. Support your fellow Americans.
  • it's the only switch panel that I, as an installer and offroader/ overlander, can trust with my life. I abused mine for 5 years going through snow, mud, dust, ice, water, heat, and vibration and my switch-pro works just as good as day 1. death valley in summer, mojave in summer, AZ in summer, stoddard wells in summer, anza in summer, big bear when it's snowing, mojave road river crossing, etc all no problem.
  • loads of functions: secondary triggers, output dimming, choices of power by battery or ignition, strobing, flashing, momentary on, bursting, bluetooth remote, voltage readouts, temperature read outs. one key on/off for multiple output, and much more!
  • yeah it's expensive but you install this correctly this will last a long time

As an installer I'm gonna advise you against cheap chinese panels like auxbeam.
  • In my career of installing lights, panels, weboost, head units, and other stuff, I have never seen anything with a failure rate as high as auxbeam.
  • Auxbeam is the only panel that I've installed that have dead panels right out of box. Multiple times.
  • Auxbeam is also the only panel that I've installed that have died within a year. Also multiple times.
  • Auxbeam is also the only panel that I've had to charge for install, then charge for uninstall to swap over to Switch-Pro. Also at least 3 times.
  • Auxbeam is also the only panel that I've had to troubleshoot for problems months after I install and run the lights "because it suddenly stop working"

TLDR:
Switch-Pro is something you can depend your life on. Granted it's a bit pricy but for the performance and value of what it does, it is a bargain.
sPod is from the same company that owns BD, their stuff looks decent but I have no personal experience with.
Auxbeam is trash and stay away. You get what you pay for but be prepared to spend time and money to chase down problems or replace it later down the line.
Thanks bro for the suggestion. It was kind of the way I was leaning anyway, but you put the nail in the coffin for Auxbeam!

I was kinda wanting to go sPOD because it's just looks easier to install and a little more simplified, but I definitely don't like the price. I'm thinking, based on your history with the Switch Pro 9100, maybe I'll go that route then.

yeap you won't be disappointed with switch pro. you can just tap into the engine bay fuse box for the light blue (ign) cable.
I strongly recommend NH Overland's switch pro engine bay mount, since you'll be able to connect your switch module to a bus bar and then use the bus bar to connect to your lights. That way, if you want to change the switches it will be way easier.

What did you use? I have a 2021 Rebel and just swapped the stock 275/70R18 Duratracks for a new set of 295/70R18 Toyo R/T Trails. Oddly enough I tested the speedo and it’s dead on with no calibration. Used a GPS app and even at 80mph it was right on. I do want to change the TPMS though.

Did you have your phone plugged in with USB cord?

Now that you mention it, I did. Does that override something? I’ll do it with it unplugged later and see what difference it makes.
It uses the trucks GPS instead of your phone when it's plugged in.

So I checked online about the differences and on my drive home with it unplugged these numbers seemed to line up. Damn rush hour in South Florida I never got over 45mph (truck speedometer) but the app was showing 46-47mph so it’s definitely off.

Is this enough difference to make the Tazer DT worth buying?

I mean, IMO, the TazerDT is worth buying even if you don't need to change tire sizes

i used alfaobd.
TPMS change took a while to register. I changed it at lunch time, went around the block, parked. When I got off work it was still screaming at me for low tire pressure (normal), so I drove 20 minutes to my second job. I was on the phone so I didn't pay attention to when it went away.
When I was done from my second job 12 hours after I made the change, my low tire pressure warning went away.

small update:
I noticed when I was cruising on highway speed at 65mph (truck) my Waze read 64mph. Seems like I was 1 MPH off while on freeway speed.
I think I'll just leave it instead of further messing with it. 1MPH difference is not gonna make a whole lot of difference, i hope.

unless it does?

Glad you got it worked out that’s why I love Alfa for Ram DT trucks. Sometimes when you make a change it just takes it a minute or a couple of power cycles to perform the function.

For what it's worth this has been my experience. Alot of people seem to think hooking waze up to their truck makes their speedo read correctly. While it is true they do sync it's not correct. I drive by 3 different fixed radar detectors frequently and my speed was consistently off by 3-4 mph depending on speed. Which correlates perfectly to the tire size calculation for speed. If you want waze to read accurately you need to keep it disconnected from your truck.

Not saying that anyone here is saying that but I feel like it needs to be spelled out for future readers.
