Do the “1500” badges on the Laramie Sport hood only truly come as part of the bezel (part number 68402889AB)? If so, are these removable?

I swear I saw an exploded diagram pdf once before that indicated these badges were attached separately, with two holes behind. Looking to lose the chrome badging on the hood, and was curious if this may be a plastidip project or if I will need to buy the entire bezel.

No, I am not talking the Big Horn Sport hood and those badges.

Thanks. Any chance you could take a pic of the backside, or provide insight if it looks like that is detachable?

Will try, but is a Christmas gift from my daughter (even though I got it...haha). So may not have access to it until Tues.

Try searching the forum as this topic has been covered. The badges you describe can be replaced.

Came up with nothing in my search, tried that route first... but obviously didn’t yield any results. Any hints at what to search that may be helpful?

Have you tried searching for badges? There are some threads out there. I'll try to find one for you

Turns out, I got one too... but it got lost in the mail! Let me know what you determine during install.

This is what the back looks like. It doesn’t appear that you can just remove and replace.
I replaced the entire piece on my Laramie with the all-black Rebel hood bezel.

Thanks! Assuming install needed the hood liner removed? Any tips for an upcoming install?

Here are my pix on how it came. Will look to install later today.

I didn’t remove the liner. I used a plastic trim removal tool and carefully “many loud noises” pulled it up. All of the clips will break. Don’t worry about any pieces that fall in between the hood. A few days later when I opened the hood, the remaining pieces fell out through the small holes on the back corners of the hood. Hope that helps .

A little late to this, but on the sport hood on the center part the badges are held on with 2 sided tape. I took mine off and plasti dipped them and was able to put them right back on.
Save yourselves the $120 bucks and it's been holding up great. I removed the Laramie and 4x4 badges off the tailgate, removed both Ram letters off the doors. Plasti dipped the front Ram letters and bought and replaced the Ram Head on the tailgate with the OEM black one.
It came out nice and I am happy with it.
Bill
