What did you do to your Ram today???

Guess I’m buying another sun visor… this time the driver side broke in the same place the passenger one did about a year ago. Just ordered the new one and it appears the part number has been superseded 5 times kinda surprised my May-2020 built truck has a sun visor from October 2019.

Can you just get that part. Every time I search for one, the search returns the whole visor which seems like a ridiculous fix when it is the plastic clip that broke. Any help is appreciated.

I couldn’t find anything to get it fixed cheaper unfortunately, the part that broke not only holds the visor up but also allows it to rotate so you can’t glue it back into place, and there’s wires running through the middle so it would be a challenge to replace that part if you could.

I've been using these peppermint pouches, they have tie straps. Keep one tethered near the battery.

Busy weekend with installs…

Finished up the Hellwig sway bar with core 4x4 links
Corrected the speedometer calibration with the hyper tech speedometer tool
Installed the GoRhino RB20 steps (kids and wife approved)
S&B cold air intake
Sequential mirror turn signals
And finally some custom caliper covers to add a bit of color behind the wheels

Next up: Bilstein shocks/struts to settle down the Readylift a tad and then some type of exhaust. Go back and forth between Borla Sport and Corsa systems.

I'd like to see a side shot of the whole truck when you get the chance. I wanna get a full idea of how the white pops from behind the rims.

It's not like I have a truck to mod anyway....but a brother can dream/plan.

was cheap enough to pull the trigger. $160 shipped vs the Mopar or RAM branded one which is the same for $300 before shipping.

The caliper covers are the rough county ones with a little customization. Sanded down the ones from RC and coated them with the VHT high heat primer, white, then clear coat.

They were missing something, so I ordered some of the RAM tail light stickers in gloss black from Reflective Concepts and put them on the another coat of clear. Once the paint cured for a few days, I let them bake in the over at 200 degrees for an hour to truly cure per the instructions. Coating should last a while!

How come you (and a ton of other people) get caliper covers instead of just painting the calipers? I’m genuinely curious, because I simply painted my calipers instead of going thru the process of buying covers, sanding them, baking them, etc. I just sprayed on VHT high temp paint, waited for it to dry, then just drove it like normal and it cured from the heat of the brakes. Is there any sort of advantage for caliper covers? If anything I’d assume they trap in a little heat, no? Thanks

Yeah, I looked at link. Front ones still have that cheap cover look with larger flat area. But these look a hell of a lot better than the MGP caliper covers.

Im sure they’re other bigger brake options that could be modified or bolted on to work from GM vehicles or other vehicles like the TRX which I assume has a better setup but this is probably overkill for 95% of us owners that couldn’t be fixed with quality rotors/pads.

I had TPMS sensors installed in my travel trailer tires and linked them to my Ram’s TTPMS system.

I need to do this as well. What sensors did you buy?

Looks good. I prefer the look of painted vs covers. My problem has been deciding on a color. I always do bright red. Have been considering a dark red for calipers and tow hooks.

It's all about personal preference. I prefer the look of the smooth surface of caliper covers as opposed to the textured surface of painted calipers. If I could get the same smooth appearance by painting that you get with caliper covers I would definitely paint. I still haven't pulled the trigger on caliper covers anyway.

My idea on the caliber covers was that if I had to replace a caliper, I'd not have to repaint. I like the smooth look better than the paint. Plus, it is quick and easy to put on the covers versus painting. And I got the covers used and it was about the same price as paint.

You can get the same smooth look as the covers, just take more sanding and priming
