It's going to get attention because you just don't see them very often. I would argue that most people have never heard of them, or ever seen them. As you said, it's a love/hate thing. While I won't say I hate them, the styling definitely isn't my taste.
You’re right. My SSR is a 2004 in excellent condition and most people think it’s a new vehicle and wonder what it is.
I’m alright with it not being your taste LOL! 😎

That’s awesome! The factory tri fold sounds like trash! I like my Gator fx, except having to open to close the tailgate, and if completely open it blocks my entire rear view. Thanks for the write up!
You have Gator FX3 ? Mind sharing a pic ? I have granite crystal metallic truck color too. Hear you on closing tailgate but think the gloss black looks better than matte black on BAK ?

When you state "gloss" are you referring to the FiberMax?
Bak's description appears to give an advantage to the FiberMax BakFlip
"The BAKFlip FiberMax includes all of the features of a standard aluminum BAKFlip, now with an FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer) surface, making the cover dent, scuff and ding resistant, as well as cooler to the touch. Its tough aluminum substructure, robust hinge design, and patented slam latch system make the FiberMax an easy-to-use, dependable cover that is built to last."
That may also add to your decision.

Used it to transport a dead body for my wife…

I will say, this is the first time I used it to pick up something messy, (the mulch we got this year was in bags) and I hadn’t even thought of it but sweeping out the bed with the split tailgate open was awesome, no back and forth opening and closing the tail gate to get the rest of the pine needles out. (That may or may not be an ocd thing, but whatevs 😂)

Mine is just the Gator FX. Gets hotter than hell to touch in the summer. I personally like matte black better. Just depends on what you want.

Glad to hear you’re all fine. I have zero tolerance for drunk drivers. I call the troopers every time I suspect it. Better than pulling them out of the car at a stoplight.

Do you know if they put the GT exhaust on your truck instead? I mean I doubt they did, but if it was more readily available it’s a possibility since it’s the same style & uses the same attachment parts.

I‘ve had a Kia Soul as a rental once also. Never again. 🤮

Such a nice color man. If I didn’t settle on the Ivory white it was between that same color blue & delmonico red.
It wasn’t too bad, cheap on gas
