I use my Mopar bed step. It has to be the most useful function on my truck. It is much better than the cutouts in the bumper on the Chevy's. Those cutouts are too high and they are very awkward to use when you are getting out of the bed. I can walk right out of my truck facing forward with the Mopar bed step.

He's talking about using the Mopar bed step. The cutouts in the Chevy bumper are way higher than the Mopar bed step. So if truck is lifted, you are stretching to get to up to it from the ground. The Mopar extending bed step is awesome. Much better design and lower to ground making entry and exit of bed much easier. Plus you can see it, and you are feeling for a cut out in bumper with you foot

I still like the Mopar step much more for appearance. Folds up out of the way hidden nicely and no ugly cutouts to look at all the time. Another few inches and you may as well just use the bumper.

Getting in it might be easier, but harder when getting out of the bed.
I'm not sure how different getting down from the MFT is compared to the regular tailgate, but it's a god damn death trap unless you are walking backwards out, I can never get my foot to touch the step until i'm falling out and hope I don't snap it by essentially jumping down onto it with all my weight.
Maybe these pictures help show the problem i'm referring to.

How do I land on this? The top of the bumper sticking out is not possible to land on, and the step is under my tailgate, if the bumper was bigger or had cutouts where the foot goes completely inside (until you hit your leg on the cutout) it would be better.

I don't understand what you mean. I don't mind the look but cosmetics are user preference.

You can clearly access it with the gate down or up...

I also installed 2 stakes on each side to grab on as handles if needed.

The bumper itself is also large enough to my put entire foot on and be stable, the Ram's bumper is very short and I can only fit maybe 40% of my foot on it if even so it's not a safe place to stand.

I guess what i'm trying to say here is the Ram should have cutouts in the bumper AND steps available to be installed.
I currently don't have a way to access my tailgate if I drop it down like normal, as I have a MFT step installed from the factory which is not accessible when using the tailgate as normal.
Having another step (which can't be installed at the same time) or cutouts would allow me to enter and exit my truck with either of the 2 tailgate methods being used.

We are talking about the regular bed step on the corner of bumper that extends out. To compare the MFT step in your pics to the Chevy bumper is asinine. Open the MFT style tailgate up on a Chevy truck and the cutouts in bumper would be almoat useless.

70-80% of my boot could fit into the Chevy cutout, and i'm a size 10.5 wide.

Or both styles of bed step, which can be done as I've seen a truck with both. And the corner bed step by Mopar is far superior than any silly bumper cut out that still sits way to high for anyone tht isn't 6'+ to reach on a normal height 4x4, let alone a lifted truck

I didn't say that. I read the OP's post and responded. I have no opinion on the MFT bed step because I've never used one.

I stand by my assessment of the Chevy cutouts compared to the Mopar corner bed step...it's not even close. The Mopar step is much better.

I have not seen a SINGLE truck with both steps, especially from factory as you can't install both steps using the OEM method and you need to custom make additional parts to get them both mounted (as they use the same screw\bolt to mount on) from what I saw.

Find me instructions that don't involve buying spare metal and welding on how to mount a side step, with an existing bed step and ill shutup.

Actually, I can't say that. I installed the Borla ATAK on the one I saw, but wasn't looking at the steps when I did the exhaust to see how everything was mounted
