What do you mean the summary page? Are you sure your wiring is correct? Try the other C2, if it still isn't working, maybe it is your wiring.
It shows the number of drives, miles and other info along with the setting icon at the top left. This is the 8th vehicle I have used openpilot on. All the others were Honda or Hyundai and all have worked great. I will get the other one (it's 3 hours away) in the next day or two and try it out.

Could be a wiring issue. Are you using the Comma harness?

Yes, I am.
Usually when the Comma stays on that screen, it because of a connection issue. There are two things to check, the Comma harness and the USB cable. We've had a lot of issues with the USB cable. If the Comma could connect to the truck, not not read the fingerprint, it would at least go into Dashcam mode. It seems that to be a communication issue.

I’ve been lurking here for a bit. Have a 2021 Ram 1500 that has the requisite ACC and LKA. Getting ready to buy the Comma 3 and harness. Thank you @Malodave for the mirror mount .STL file, and to all of you that have invested so much time in OP. Also thanks to the many who worked so hard on the mods needed to add ACC to the Ram 1500 over in the other forums.

I’m having a hard time following the bouncing ball on the various forks. I’m pretty sure I will need either beta or one of the forks because I hope to have steer to 0. With that being said, if you were to start fresh today, what fork would you load with the goal of having good stability and steer to 0?

Any other very compelling experimental features to consider?

I know I’m asking for opinions. I’d love to hear them all!

Thank you

Thank you. That's what I was thinking but I have never had this happen before. I'll go get the other unit and check with it. The only part I won't be able to verify with the other unit would be the Comma harness for the Ram.

I run the beta of sunnypilot. There are only 2 options if you want steer to 0. Sunnypilot and realfast beta. Sunnypilot has a lot more features. But the code for the Ram is identical.

Thank you!!! I drove 3 hours to get the other unit. The first thing I did was swap out the usb cable. It works! At least it will drive back home after a couple hours of sleep tonight. Can't wait to finally see how it works on the Ram. By the way, can I just buy a high quality usb cable or should I order one from comma? I need to replace the one I took off the other unit.

You can use any USB cable. For some reason, it is hit and miss on the cable.

I’m having a hard time following the bouncing ball on the various forks.

No doubt! If I read all the messages in near-realtime, I can keep up. As soon as I go offline for a day or two, the backlog of messages is so big, I can't catch up and I'm lost again.

To the rest of y'all: Is there anything new on the C2 front? I have S20 (fork C2betaV2, I think it is), but I haven't had an update in something like 6 weeks or more.

What I'm running works pretty well, so I don't NEED an update, but it does flake out every now and then with some random error. That is only very occasional. And it does still totally fail to recognize one side of the lane or the other in some certain conditions (e.g. pavement that is bordered by grass, with no line at all). Oh, and it often on surface streets will say it doesn't have enough torque to make a turn when I know it does (or could).

The latest is c2beta which has steer to 0. There hasn't been any updates for awhile on either since we are pretty solid now. I doubt you will see any more C2 updates since it is no longer officially supported. The only updates for the C3 should be aligning it with the official release. If comma would incorporate our changes, we could just run the official release on C3. That's why I run SunnyPilot. It is the most up to date with our changes in it.

Definitely join the discord if you haven't already, but I hear sunnypilot is dealer's choice right now for c3 forks on 1500. Your C3 will be "plug and play" regardless though. Might be worth trying the official release from Comma and then switching over to a custom fork after you've got your bearings with how everything works. The main difference between official release and a custom fork will the steer to 0, amongst a few other items.

Got my comma3 installed today. Cheers to @Malodave for the lovely mount. Did the sunnypilot fork and it performs perfectly. I had a comma2 a few years back with a Kia Stinger, and it did pretty good as well, but I can tell there’s been a lot of progress since I’ve been gone. Loving it!

For anyone who is on the fence, it’s a very painless install, and it’s a beautiful thing to have on a long trip or even a tedious daily commute. Highly recommended. 10/10

Am I nuts? I went through the github for sunnypilot to give it a try and I don't see the fork listed. Maybe I'm too tired today.

Are you just trying to install Sunnypilot test-c3 on a Comma 3? If so all you have to do is type installer.comma.ai/sunnyhaibin/test-c3 in the custom software URL after uninstalling whatever software is on it. don't even need https://

Haha, don't be so hard on yourself, the documentation is not exactly complete :) I went from never having heard of Openpilot to an ACC upgrade on my 21 Bighorn and comma3 with sunnypilot test in the last month or so, so it's all fresh in my mind. I'll forget everything in another month.

I have a 2022 TRX, and purchased the Comma 3 and installed Sunny Test-C3. I am having some issues, and wanted to get some advice.
  • I get frequent “Vehicle Parameter Unknown” errors. Sometimes it seems triggered by the blind spot monitors. Other times i can‘t see the cause. Is this just par for the course. It happens on almost every drive at some point. I can cancel open pilot and wait a bit and typically re-engage. but sometimes I have to wait 5+ mins.
  • What should i set my lane sense settings to? I can set the strength, and I can turn it on or off. Should i just leave it turned on, and at the highest setting?
  • Is there a way to bypass Open Pilot all together and get stock functionality?
  • Does anyone else have an IGLA alarm system installed with a Comma 3/ Open Pilot? I am seeing a potential incompatibility…
I AM on the discord, but I am trying to just get my orientation… Its much easier to follow here

I'm not sure why you get the parameters error. You might want to ask on Discord.

Lane sense doesn't matter and you should not be able to turn it on with the C3 running. There was talk about using the LKA button to enable/disable OP. It was in a build at one time, not sure anymore.

No clue about the alarm.

You will probably get more answers on Discord than here.
