35x13.50R20 Tires

Is anyone running a 13.50 wide tire? I am going to lift my truck with a 6 inch lift and I found a great deal on some Limited wheels with 35x13.50R20 tires. I believe I am going to have to run a spacer since these are Limited wheels with factory offsets.

Stock wheel offset would cause even 12.5 wide to rub. Tire would rub inside against the upper control arm.

At least this is true for stock height and up to 2.5" level/lift. I"m sure the geometry of the 6" lift will move the UCA further away from the tire, but not sure it would be enough to clear a 13.5 wide on stock wheel.

Also, if you go with a 6" lift I'd recommend 37" tall tires anyways.

Yeah I'd say so. Seems like 2" would clear you from the upper control arm setup but not sure how the 13.5 wide would then do on the front and back side of the fenders.

Well I just had a six inch lift installed and I got 35’s but 12.5 wide. No need for 37’s and no need for 13.5. I feel a tremendous difference with acceleration as is but I’m guessing 37x12.5 would probably feel the same as 35x13.5. The difference in fuel economy will offset the deal on the tires. Tires is one thing you don’t want to pinch Pennie’s on. I think the 35’s look pretty good

Yeah looks good. I say 37"s seem more proportional as I like stuffed wheel wells. I have 35" tall tires on with just a 2.5" front level. They're 295/65r20 so tall and narrow. Tends to make them look normal sized.

You feel a big difference in acceleration? Have you had your tire size recalibrated yet? My shift points were pretty out of whack directly after I swapped my tires, but after recalibrating i don't really notice too much acceleration loss.

The tires is the reason I am wanting to buy them. Guy is selling a new set of Cooper STT Pro's on limited wheels for $1000. The tires are $500/each if I bought them out right. The only thing I was worried about was the 13.50 wide tire.

Ah dang. Well in that case I'd definitely buy them and then do whatever it took to make it fit.

Might fit as is but might also need spacers. Maybe not 2" spacers but just enough to clear everything. Either way you're saving over $1000 between tires and mount/balance.

What about the guy selling them? How did they fit for him?

No I didn’t recalibrate my Speedo. I guess I should get on top of that. I didn’t realize it would affect the transmission shifting. Thank you for that info

Yikes that a super wide tire on a stock width wheel. Even 12.5 is pushing it.

Well picked up the wheels and tires today. When I have time, I am going to remove my front wheels and mount them up to see what is needed to clear the UCA. Just wondering how the lift will affect that pitch.
