Multi wives? I have trouble with just the one.
You don’t want to hear “I have a headache tonight” multiple times?

Don’t mind it. The bass can be boomy at times but it’s better than the Bose in my GF’s CX5 signature. Now the B/O system in the high end ford’s sounds good but hey. I’m no audiophile.

I stuck to the Alpine, but even that sounds much better than what I had in my Denali. I'd rather have too much bass that I can control than too little that I can't do anything about.

This thread makes me regret not going with the HK system even less.

I'm not blown away by it (seems about the same as the 9 speaker system), but today's music being all digital and compressed, it's hard to know what to blame. Old school aftermarket systems with cross overs, amps and subwoofers still sounded better.

I am curious if anyone's found all 19 speakers, yet?

Yes, technically they are there, they classify a 2 way speaker as 2 speakers.

I disconnected my sub.
Replaced the front 2 corner dash speakers
Replaced the 4 front door speakers
Replaced the 2 rear door speakers
And most importantly, bypass the Active Noise Canceling.

Huge difference.

There is quite a mix of opinions on this system. Some have disconnected their subs, I assume because they weren't able to turn down the bass enough for their tastes. Others have complained that there is too little bass. And still others are quite happy with their HK system (count me among this group). I'm wondering if comments from owners of the Alpine system would have a similar mix of opinions of that system?

Those of you who disconnected your subs, would you care to say why? No judgement, just wondering why you say it's now a better system when you've removed the lowest frequencies from your sound spectrum. I assume you weren't able to turn the bass down enough for your liking.

I came across a lot of comments on the Alpine system when I was trying to decide, and it seemed mixed as well. Most complaints about the Alpine system I read were about the clarity of the dash and door speakers and a lot of people upgraded to something else. The sub sounds pretty good without being too much.

When you turn down the subwoofer it turns down both the sub in the rear and the front doors. The EQ for the rear subwoofer is way off with no ways of adjustment. The whole system sounds great now without the rear sub. I heard some people fill it with some sort of material to make it sound better.

Better than the “all highs no lows, it must be BOSE” other brands use

I wouldn’t mind doing a drop in replacement of the sub, but I can’t find info on doing so. Seems like no one has done that yet.
