I installed my S-type 2 days ago, so not a ton of miles yet, but it has no drone. It does have a slight rumble when it goes into eco mode. It gets quieter when you go back to all 8 cylinders.

Did any of you have the dealer install it or did you go to a performance shop?

Zero drone on my ATAK. You can hear the exhaust slightly in cab when cruising, but it's not drone

Thanks, HSKR. I have never done one before and also, trying to sneak it in with the next oil change:). Maybe, the family won't notice? LOL!

If you don't care about cutting the factory exhaust it's pretty easy. I've done my truck and a buddies without cutting the stock pipes. Just takes a little finagling to get stock exhaust out. If you cut the stock exhaust, it almost falls out. The. The hardest part is the hangers. I just used a little WD-40 and brute force and they slid right off

how tough would it be to remove stock exhaust without cutting if i just slide under the truck on a creeper (no lift at all)? i'm not opposed to cutting the stuck exhaust, just curious.

i'm assuming install would be simple enough without lifting the truck if i did cut the stock exhaust?

i come from working on turbo hatches where you MUST jack the car up to even peek under the vehicle. i'm excited to be able to work on this sucker with all 4 tires planted on the ground.

You won't be able to remove exhaust without jacking up the truck, if you dont want to cut it. Unless you have the air suspension. Then you can put it.in off-road 2 and should give you enough clearance

I've seen it online that the factory system can be easily removed, without cutting, by dropping the spare tire. I didn't drop the spare and cut mine off. Who wants a factory system anyway? And, if someone does want mine, the cut can be covered with an exhaust clamp.

moving from attack to S type soon, just looking for someone to exchange with.

on the ATAK the sound is amazing the drone I'm used to it, or don't even feel it or bothered at all I've been receiving compliments on how great it sound.

But after riding in an S-type & mopar equiped trucks it's a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference in the cabin.

I have the S type and do not have drone. However, I could see where there may be drone if you have 3.92 gears or 3.21 gears and travel in 7th gear lot at highway.

My exhaust is loudest around 2000rpm or so. If i'm cruising at 70mph in 8th then there is no drone. If i'm cruising at 75mph in 7th around 2000rpm, then it'll be slightly louder in the cab while at this rpm. Not exactly drone, but I could see how it's perceived as drone.

Overall it's quiet at highway, loud under acceleration and cold start, and quite in eco mode. Sounds good. Very musical tone.

Where are you located? I'd switch my S for an Atak. lol. I like the aggressive notes my S type makes, so it makes me wish i'd gone Atak from the start.

Does anyone know if you can order just the Atak muffler?

I've contacted Borla and waiting for a reply. I've also contacted a local authorized dealer (the biggest one for Borla) and they can get me a muffler from Borla but much smaller and louder.

You'd think you can get just the muffler rather than just the full system. I want to switch out my S-Type for the Atak.

Maybe someone in Ontario wants to swap lol.

They sell an ATAK crate muffler, but it's not the same as the muffler used on the whole ATAK system.

Yea, that I already know because one of the bigger suppliers here where I'm at told me they have a connecting pipe as he called it, but it's smaller than the Atak muffler. Thus being louder, and I want Atak louder not louder then the Atak though.

It doesn't make sense that they will not sell the actual Atak muffler that comes in the full systems. All I want to do is swap my S-Type for the Atak. They must have the mufflers, so why not just sell them separately. Not 100s of them but why not sell them on a need as basis.

I could buy the Atak and have a muffler shop connect it to factory piping. As factory piping is different. But any shop could make it connect with any vehicle. In my case I already have the S-type fill system.

Looks like thus request will be a no go lol. Unless someone want to tone it down that lives near me.
