doubt the dealer will do much, probably either offer you a refund on the cost of HUD or offer to put you in another truck. Not really the dealers fault, more of a factory issue which happens all the time.
I trade for new every few years and have never paid for an option that wasn't there, nor have i had one show up without something that was supposed to be. So, i'd challenge the "happens all the time" though.
For the person that asked about the LED digital mirror, ALSO missing. Everything else in the package is there.
FWIW, the Dealer has been on the phone with RAM 4x already and has called me a couple times to check on stuff for them. So, they appear to be trying.

you'd think checking the boxes to make sure everything they are putting on the window sticker and is on the build sheet is there would be a thing. I mean, HUD is a completely different dash and was obvious it wasn't there. And while i get **** is worse given the times, i also paid more than i would have for the truck because it's not normal times. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect when you pay 70 G's for a vehicle you expect to get what you paid for. They make it right, all good. But, things are crazy for me right now and i really don't have time to be driving 45 mins back n forth to a dealer. So there's that

Everything else? What else is there? My Limited is a 2021 model, and I know they've been changing things in option packages around lately. But my HUD was part of the Technology Group. And the only items in that group were the HUD, digital mirror, and LED CHMSL.

If you really want the truck, ask them to discount the purchase price the dollar amount of the missing items, or give you a dealership credit for them. The other option is ordering, or buying another truck off the lot.

Also just talked to someone i know who is a GM of a Hendrick Ram dealership, he's been in the biz 15 years said he can't recall one showing up missing options.

HUD was not part of my Limited Level 1 Group. They must have combined the Tech Group with that at the time your truck order was placed. I notice that now there is no Tech Group or Limited Level 1 Group for 2022 models on the ramtrucks.com website. So happy I bought my truck when I did. I hope your issue is resolved to your satisfaction.

every manufacture is different. Its rare but it happens. I would bet the vehicle never had the option installed and the factory just forgot to list a credit for that option on the window sticker. Mercedes s classes are coming with credits for multicontour seats that were not installed. They still show the car has it but at the bottom of the sticker shows a credit for the option not installed. Simple mistake. Its sucks but the chip shortage is causing these issues.

I saw a Colorado with 2 different color seats installed. How can no one notice that?

we took a tour of the factory years ago and they told us, you can't stop the production line when a wrong part is pulled out of the box or is the incorrect part, it either gets installed or they leave it off. once it gets to the dealer it should be caught during the PDI and corrected.

You'd think they'd at least do a quick quality check when it leaves the production line. It's not like it immediately goes into a rail car.

We've seen examples on this forum of mismatched door panels, seats, grab handles, etc. It does happen.

I think it boils down to staff shortage, or a money issue. instead of them paying multiple people to fix the thousands of cars that come off the line daily with issues, maybe cheaper for them to let dealers fix it. I could be wrong though.

Back in 1999 I custom ordered a Dakota R/T with 4-wheel ABS. Along with many other options. When truck arrived at dealer, window sticker still showed 4-wheel ABS, but it was not on the truck. Dealer credited me the cost of that option off purchase price. In the end, I was glad it didn't have it for drag racing purposes. Moral of story, **** like this happens. At least it sounds like your dealer is stepping up to help make it right.
