My Longhorn has a $70,000 window sticker. I optioned it up.

Pano headliner doesn't fit correctly, ticks and clicks when driving. Also sounds like a bolt is rolling around in the dash. I hear that when the vehicle starts or stops moving.

Totally unacceptable quality control at the factory.

I'm afraid to let the dealer touch it for rear they'll make things much worse from ripping and tearing in an attempt to fix the issues.

Hey The_Chemist,

We'd be happy to work with you and your dealer to ensure any concerns are addressed. If you end up scheduling a time to bring your truck in, just PM us.

Glad to see a Ram Care Specialist here. I just took delivery Monday evening, and when I got home under the lights in my garage noticed the entire passenger side of my new black truck was scratched up. Either it was damaged getting unloaded off the truck, or someone in detailing really woke up on the wrong side of the bed, because my salesman said it still had plastic on it in the very back of their lot. Most of them you can't get your fingernail in, but the worst one above the rear passenger door is another story.
Dealership was cool about it, and I have an appointment to take it back on Tuesday afternoon to see if they all can be buffed out.

I hear ya. I found a few more fit and finish items to add to my list of things that haven't been addressed. The Limited plate on the console looks like crap because the cutout it fits into is all uneven. There is also a defect in the driver's door glass. Looks like some sort of scrape between the laminated glass. It isn't on the glass it's in between. Cant be cleaned or scraped off. The yoke on the driveshaft is also rusted to hell. The truck was built in August so it's barely 3 months old. Add these to my laundry list of quality control failures. Dealer says the only way to fix my dash leather defect is "fill and finish" otherwise they have to swap the entire dash. Imagine doing either on a $67,000 2 month old vehicle? I am getting pissed and would like FCA to do something to make me whole again for the poor quality control issues. Good luck with your issues.
I feel your pain - believe me! Does anybody inspect this stuff? They had to see defects in your leather and other items before it was installed. This stuff kills me. Total slop quality control. Those parts should have been rejected.

The fasteners on my headliner don't even line up with each other. They just left it go, now I have to listen to it rattle. My issues aren't as severe as yours though. I'm a Chemist who works for an electroplating facility. If your parts were plated and coated or chromated correctly, they would not have rusted. We subject our parts to a period of salt spray to ensure good quality for the end customer.

Keep us posted on how you make out. I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

I'll probably never spend $70,000 on a vehicle again. I wanted my dream truck before I retired. Hopefully I can get my issues fixed and start enjoying it.

Thanks for your support. I love the truck but cant believe all the crap that passed quality control. I've owed approximately 20 cars in my life and never had issues with fit and finish. The Service Manager at the dealership called it a "disaster". Let's see how he addresses the "disaster". Anyway, I'm hoping for the best but not overly optimistic.

Sorry to hear. It's very difficult to give the vehicle a complete lookover in such a short time when you pick it up. Sometimes it takes days to notice things which is exactly my situation. Day after day another issue pops up. Good luck with the scratches. I hope they are able to compound them out and you dont need paintwork.

I finally got a response from the dealer Service Manager about bringing my truck in to begin addressing multiple delivery fit and finish issues and a Uconnect issue. I am dropping it off Friday 11/16. I will let you know how it turns out but I may need your help in the future. I want the truck 100% right as it was very expensive and is barely 2 months old. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.
Jennifer, what is the best way to get hold of you after I meet with the dealer re addressing my issues?

I'm sure that FCA will take care of you. You paid good money and deserve a quality vehicle.

With as many items as you have, FCA will step in and make it right. It'll take some time though as you'll have to go through all the channels.

I wish you the best of luck. These trucks are above all the others out on the market, and way above most cars as well. It's a shame that FCA is putting out such a luxury vehicle that is world class and not demanding world class quality out of the factory. It's even more of a shame that the workers that put this kind of stuff out can sleep at night knowing that they ripped off a customer and smeared FCA's reputation in the process. Nobody cares anymore!

Good grief. That's just plain, straight up poor quality control. FCA needs to tighten up their controls prior to these things leaving the factory floor. Once is too many times. These are trucks, not multi-stage rockets or splitting atoms. Factory employees should be forced to personally phone each customer they affect with their laziness and apologize to the owner for the bullshiat grief they suffer having to go to the dealer to fix their lazy-*** mistakes.

Seriously FCA workers, for shame.

Another example of poor quality control on Chrysler's part. They have no problem charging $70,000 for a vehicle but dont care how it leaves the factory. I have a list which includes a leather dash defect that I have to live with or risk the aftermath of a full dash swap. Not good FCA.
