Price negotiated from MSRP

So I'm starting to look into pricing on a 2019 Limited and luckily I have a few dealers near me that seem to advertise heavy discounts prior to any FCA cashback or incentive offers. I also have an FCA affiliates number for the 1% below invoice pricing. My question - is it better to bring up the affiliates discount right off the bat or are people getting more than 1% below invoice on regular discounting?

The dealers that i am getting quotes from still want the AR number even though they go further below invoice.
Current deal I am getting is 6% below invoice with the AR number + applicale incentives at the time the truck comes in.
I assume the reason is FCA probably gives the dealers something on AR orders.

Look on the “site vendors” speak to Craig from moons and have him get you a price . Then you can either buy from him or have a price that you can take to another dealer in hopes of matching . He does 7% off invoice plus incentives.

I used Edmunds TMV and TrueCar to get the invoice price. I've also been told multiplying the MSRP by 0.93 gets you close to the invoice price.

What is the easiest way to find the invoice price?

If you email Craig at Koons, he will give you his 7% off invoice price and show you what the invoice price is. Some dealers will also tell you although most of them prefer to keep it to themselves. If you have a Costco membership, they have a good car buying program where you build your truck and it also gives an accurate invoice price.

Because of this forum, and talking to Craig at Koons, I started negotiating with my local dealers based on % off invoice. Once they know that you know what the invoice price is you can get down to business. I ended up getting 5.5% below invoice plus incentives and was able to buy local.

That amount of discount would be quite a bit more than I have seen. Are you sure they aren’t including conditional discounts? With those, it would end up at 48k in a 66k truck, which would be way more than is typical. Maybe you’re looking at a 2019 Ram Classic or something? Those are massively discounted

I checked the same truck again this morning and they removed some of the dealer discount amount. Luckily I kept a screenshot on my phone from a few days back. Currently the dealer discount is only -8600 on the same truck.

Should I take this lease deal on a loaded Laramie?

MSRP $62735 with dealer discount of $7701.31 plus $2000 in rebate for a total discount of $9701.31 and sale price of 53033.69. Plus they are giving more $40k for my trade and the best I was able to do anywhere else was $39K for my trade. They also claim they can discount tax depending on what bank does the lease which would be another $800 off with my excellent credit.

Owe 31 and some change on the trade so there is some equity there. Money Factor is .00065 and Residual is 54% for a 36 month/15K mile per year lease with Chrysler unless they find another bank with a better deal. Putting payment right at about $400 a month.

First time RAM buyer. I have driven Chevy and GMC trucks all my adult life. I wanted to take a look at the RAM after seeing all the discounts advertised. I found a 2019 Bighorn demo (build date 7/18). the Sales manager was driving it . (2850 mi.).

This is by far the best truck I ever owned. I hated the cylinder deactivation in the GMC, you cannot even tell it's happening in the RAM, until you see the green eco light. The GMC shuddered and vibrated all day long. Sorry about the pics they were taken when I got home from the dealership on my android phone to send to my brother a 2015 F-150 owner who paid about $5,000 more for his truck and doesn't even come close to having the equipment the Ram has. To top it off my insurance went down about $30 a year for a brand new truck compared to my rate for the 2014 GMC. my agent said it was the safest truck on the road. Sorry about the long post, but I am a proud RAM owner now!!!

Has anyone seen a '19 1500 for sale at any lot with the off road package? I wonder due to the skid plates being late availability that no dealership has this off road package on their lot.

I ordered my Laramie with out the total off road package but did order all skid plates. You can get the plates with out having to do off road package.

you are the first person I have seen that got more off msrp than I did by 500 but mine had 28 miles on it and was a loaded Laramie, congrats on the conversion, I 2 have always been a chevy man but hated the 5.3 with the 6 speed tranny

I like the ram but we will see if I still do come trade in time, traded in a 55k ltz I paid 44k on and got 39k in trade, they held their value well

I am looking for an MSRP vs otd thread like this one for that vehicle.

By reading this thread I see that my final OTD cost will actually be about $12,000-$13,000 less then MSRP ( if I drive the new car 2,500 miles home,) so, that Jeep I wanted that I thought in the end was not a good choice now seems more doable. The Jeep I want is MSRP $55,000 and I want to get it for $43,000. Thanks...

FCA & RAM should also include military veterans that served honorably but didn't retired in their "Military Discount". As it stands only currently active duty and retirees qualify for the discount.
