I ended up with the dreaded rear window leak, third brake light leak, and then my windshield was also found to be leaking. Total time at the dealership shop for these repairs was 2 weeks in July and then from 3 August until today (23 Sept). While it was there, had them look into the rear diff too. It would start whining around 60mph. They said the whining was because water had gotten into the diff, and that I need to quit backing up my boat soo far into the water. I don’t even own a boat, and have never towed a boat.

At any rate… get the truck back to the house from Lakeland, FL dealership. I look it over, two new dents in the truck on the rear passenger door and top rear left corner of the cab. They replaced the headliner, but it looks like the drug it through dirt and grease and did a half *** assembly of all the parts they had to remove to install it.

Have any of you had the same lack of quality of work from dealerships? I’m currently in contact with the executive referrals manager at FCA (second time I’ve had to be in contact with him, for a 2019 Ram). I’m just getting at wits end with the issues and quality of workmanship with repairs.

The camera on my phone is messed up. So I’m unable to take photos of all the issues…

I have been a tech at the dealer for 15 yrs. You have good techs and you have sh*t techs. I see it daily. Some techs I wonder how they still have a job. That is why I am so hesitant to take my 21 ram into the dealer unless I really have too. But another reason for the lack of quality control is the fact that techs are paid based on the flat rate system. And manufactures keep cutting labor times for warranty jobs which make techs try and cut corners to beat the time. I am guilty of this. all manufactures have slashed times across the board and some jobs pay horrible for the amount of time you spend on it. At the same time, some techs just don't care and don't take pride in their work. My job will bend over back words for the customer if we messed up their car. They will also fight the customer when the damage was already their (we have cameras all over the dealer and the shop). so when customers start claiming damage, they quickly look at the cameras. Best to inspect your truck once you pick it up as the dealer is more likely to say "how do we know that damage didn't happen after you left". Good luck though.

This dealership I used, must have nothing but the bottom of the barrel techs. It was different ones doing different jobs. The only job that seemed to be done well was the windshield replacement. It doesn’t matter at this point though, I just know not to use that dealership again. I sold the truck, and ordered a new one. I ordered a ‘22 Limited, Delmonico Red, with Night Edition package and multifunction tailgate.

A lot of dealerships, that’s all they can get. The good techs are trying to get out of this industry, myself included. The dealership work life has turned in to absolute garbage. Not sure how the Dodge dealerships work but at my dealer everybody does everything. You do have select guys that are more preferred to do engine work over a lot of other techs. My dealer has one guy that does all of the windshield jobs. We used to Sublet those things out but now have one of the technicians that trained to do it. It’s all about cost. Which ever way the dealer can make money as the route they will go.

I’ve had issues too, my 19 was lemon lawed, now I have a 21 Laramie sport. The worst was my first oil change. I’ve changed oil and I know it can be messy! So I knew to keep several rags around to wipe hands on. Anyway when I got the truck back it had oil oil on the windshield, steering wheel, on the drivers window, all over the inside of the drivers door and handle, on the seat and the arm rest! I was offered a free car wash with my service, which I declined because even my sales man said he’s seen it scratch new cars! Anyway the outside had oil all over the top of the hood, grill and front of the truck, used oil on the drivers door the size of a basketball, also oil on the passengers back door! To top it off nothing was cleaned underneath the truck, I know you will always have a few drops, but I had several spots on my driveway for over a week and the underside of the truck is all oil from the filter to the rear axel! Unfortunately I purchased the three package oil change deal, so I will be going back🤷🏻‍♂️😩

Sounds like a dealership issue more than a warranty issue.

I think me and the mechanic would of shared some words if it was cleaned off immediately. Anything I buy over 1k I’m meticulous with. Let alone having oil in a 70k truck
