I'm not too sure. This is the entire email I was sent, did not include a legend of any sort. Here is the original format if that helps any. I don't think the asterisks are relevant based on his message prior; "hey tony here is the update i got from my stellantis rep on what the hold up is. looks like the rebel 12 package, spray in bedliner, premium lighting, two tone paint along with other option are on restriction right now "

Alright I've stewed too long over this, I woke up thinking about a new truck this morning. That's not healthy  Putting my order in today, wish me luck. Granite Crystal Limited Night Edition with Level 1 Equipment.

Blowing my budget out a bit but keeping my fingers crossed for some solid rebates/incentives on delivery, which will likely be September 2024 :ROFLMAO:

For Canadian orders, window stickers are generated as soon as there’s a VIN. That’s my understanding, anyways. I think it’s a law up there.
Weird, I’ve been trying it on my phone. I’ll give it a go on my laptop when I get home tonight

I hope the tonneau cover doesn't hold up my order. They can send it to me or the dealer when ever they get it. Also they could just credit me the money back and I'll order one from someone else.

Agreed. I was thinking about switching out the soft one that comes with the NE for a hard one within a year or so anyway,

I think I'm going to do a Diamondback. Really like thr Renegade cover, but its $3k after shipping, and they never responded if it fits a MFT. Not a lot of first hand info in forums either.

It seems like our little "niche" of factory ordering is gonna move towards the mainstream. That way OEM's will only need to order/obtain exactly how much material and how many parts they really need, instead of mass producing and sending to dealers.

I can honestly see dealerships, at least in the traditional sense, going away completely within the next 10-12 years.
I don't fully agree. There are always going to people who want the instant gratification of picking up the same day they go out. And then there are people who are forced into that. That is how we bought my first ever new car. It was a mistake, I over paid and didn't get what I wanted. But I only had one day to get something because of other tie constraints.

That's my point... if both the E-Locker and Anti-Spin Diff are restricted at this point, what trucks are they building?
You could be getting an open diff. I went into the ordering system today to see if that was possible and technically it could be if you go super vanilla build with minimal packages.

Right, but I think it would look something like where the industry starts to lean much more heavily on factory orders, and dealers start to lean more heavily on the online model that started with the pandemic, where if you ARE one of the people that wants/needs something asap, you "shop" online and pick the one you want before you're even there, rather than bouncing around to different dealers and browsing.

People will still need to test drive and whatnot of course, so I don't think dealerships will just disappear entirely. But I think the days of them taking up acres of ground are numbered. I could be wrong.

I used to think I would never order something like a TV, or clothing from Amazon but I've done it and it's been fine.

@cjgerson deserves the credit for the Blue Shade detective work, not I. I specifically went to the C.A.S. to see the Limited 10th Anniversary in person to see the interior AND to confirm for SURE that they were coming with UConnect 5 in them. I knew within 30 seconds of laying eyes on the truck it was going to be my 4th RAM (nickname Groot 3.0) Other than the cloth inserts in the door panels and seats that I have lambasted repeatedly in this forum (and not thrilled about)-the interior looks like a million bucks and is SHARP with the quilted accents. The suede headliner and A-pillars is classy as well.

UConnect 5 IS WORTH THE WAIT for a MY22 in and of itself. It was powered up where 90% of the features were accessible and I played with it quite a bit off and on (doing my best not to "hog" the truck and be respectful of others wanting to view it too) :D

I'm honestly not sure how they could make it much better really other than I'm hoping and praying that the marriage between Jeep and McIntosh Labs carries over to RAM. McIntosh in my opinion is the pinnacle of hi-fi audio and would be awesome to see in the RAM lineup.
My 2022 Limited with every option is being ordered today. Is there any reason to be worried it won't have UC5?

I can see what you are saying and both sides of the argument. But even if they started heavily building to order they still have the logistical issue of ordering the parts ahead of time. If they worry about only having enough parts to fill current orders the will always have some lag time for parts, IMO. But I also think we could see a reduction on lot size from recent events. At least in new locations, old ones would have to find a way to repurpose what they have.

In my past we spent a lot of time ordering brand new Subaru's because where I used to live and the climate. They don't do the same kind customization from the factory. They have a limited list of options and possibilities IE: interior color is tied exclusively to exterior color choice. If I put together something special the dealer would put it in and they would just route one with that spec to the dealership from transit. I don't know if the rest of the Japanese manufactures worked the same, but their automotive industry seems to work different than the rest of the major players.

Just throwing this out there, but I bought a Bak Revolver for my 2019 and it is the best tonneau cover I've ever used. And, the new Revolvers allow the tailgate to be closed without having to do anything special.

Hey everyone - new to the forum and am so glad I found it! Lots of helpful tips, especially around the negotiation aspects of buying! Looking to order a 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel very soon and this will be the very first vehicle I have ever ordered - looking forward to the process!

The E-Locker or Anti-Spin:

I wondered about this myself but on my POC for my Rebel it does not sayin one or the other ( I do have DH8 ESOD) about the diff. Do Rebels come standard with the e-locker?
