As much as I love my truck something tells me that I mad bad decision on getting it! I’m at 4000 miles and today started the truck and there is so loud knocking noise that comes from the engine I think it will take a sh.....! I’ll try to attach a video. Is there anyone that has the same issue? I don’t know if I can make it to the dealership.

It seams I cannot put a video in here

Hey Mavroni,

We're so sorry to hear this is happening! If you do decide to visit your dealership to have this diagnosed and need assistance, just DM us. We're happy to help.

Don't you get free roadside assistance for the first 3yr/36k miles?

The tow truck is on its way here. Oil is good and clean. Talked to the dealer and they will check it. I’ll update when I have some info

If there is any brightside to this it was that any damage done was caught while it's still under warranty and not at 60,001 miles.

Hopefully, they don't drag their feet and diagnose and fix it asap.
Rod knock?

Ok, I towed to the dealer, the service advisor got in started it and said that this does not sound good at all, so he said he will get it in to check it, he drove around the lot and the knocking noise disappeared. There was no light, it was very strange for them too. They hooked it up to the computer and everything was fine. Had it for several hours to check it but couldn’t find anything wrong. They gave it to me and said to drive it and if it does it again to bring it back . It was very odd. Hope it will never do that again.

Something is bad wrong. It's perfectly rhythmic, rod knock but it is so loud its gotta be hitting something. I can't believe they didn't want to tear that down after they heard it. I can honestly say that's the loudest engine knock I have ever heard!

Hey Mavroni,

I heard this noise at startup yesterday morning so I decided to search the forums. I was in BFE out in the middle of Florida so I just started driving it and the noise went away. I had no idea what it was but I knew it wasn't good. This was the only time I have ever heard it and hope it never comes back. When listening it didn't even sound like a knock but more of something stuck?? I have to agree with you I have never had a vehicle that made so many dam noises and clunks then this truck. I feel like I hear something new every month.

Do you use 87 or 89? I was using 87 but will be switching as that could have been the culprit.

That should not cause a noise like that. That was a mechanical slapping sound. A stuck lifter, a rod, main bearing failure. Since it went away, my guess is it was a stuck lifter. Most other issues would only get worse.
