Sure, here's an updated chart (along with a couple of others that chimed in in the past few days). If anyone not listed below is interested in providing info, it would be helpful.

On the WAG lookahead, I went ahead and changed the "start of production" assumption to 7/26, based on intel provided by @redriderbob.

@Eighty - Ordered my 2022 on 6/22. Not sure when it was issued, but my VIN is 112813. I asked my dealer for an update on 6/28 and that's when he gave me that VIN.

Ok, I think I've updated the information for everyone who has provided it. Again, please note that these are sweeping, big-picture assumptions. And as of right now (given the unexpected shutdown for "weather-related parts shortages"), I'm pretty skeptical on the 7/26 start date.

Random question for those who placed their 2022 orders or looking to place an order.

If MSRP was the same ( most of us are smart enough to get invoice at this point) which one would you order if you had the chance

Lower trim with more options to add ( like ram box, sun roof, off road package)

Next higher trim but basic trim level with no extras

Just curious on what you think.

2016 Dodge Charger scat pack and my wife 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara (2.5" rc lift with 35" duratracs)
I ordered a Big Horn (lower trim) and added the options I wanted.

I've been working with Sandi too and it's been great. You won't regret the higher trim, especially with their pricing.
Thanks! I hope so. The more I think about it (and Sandi sent me a printout of all the features in the Limited Longhorn) I'll like many of the extra options. I plan on flying with my wife to New Orleans; staying a few days for vacation, and seeing if Mark will deliver the truck somewhere nearby NO as it is about 200 miles from Lake Charles. Then drive home. More later on this when the truck is built.

I just contacted Mark Dodge and they beat the price for the vehicle I ordered by $1300. But then my order goes to the end of the line instead of near the front. Price of convenience? I bought from a local dealer but I don't know if there is any real advantage to buying from the same place that would repair/service my vehicle......
My personal opinion from years of experience is that dealerships make a lot of money on service. Unless they have a vendetta against you, they will treat you almost the same as if you bought it there-especially if there are multiple dealership choices in your general area like in my area here in NJ.

I ordered a Limited Longhorn instead of a Laramie and it is costing me about 3500 more. Of course I get the goodies in the upgraded trim. Did this primarily to get the Tech. Group and ASG options. I'm relatively conservative ( my kids would say cheap) and would normally only order the trim I wanted with the options I wanted. One thing is for sure: By ordering, you aren't paying msrp at a local dealer at an inflated price with options you don't want. BTW, a shout out to Joe Co. thanks so much for your guidance on this forum. If it weren't for you..........

So, those of you that have ordered '22's, have you had any luck negotiating, or is it MSRP or higher?
My salesperson is at a small town dealership and is a friend who lets me store my pontoon on their land in the off season. They quoted $800 over invoice when I asked about how ordering works, which was still far less than MSPR. Their first actual quote was about $1500 over invoice, but they were able to get it down to the $800 when I asked. I had another dealer say $500 over invoice for ordering.

I know it's less than 200 from the dealership to New Orleans. I thought about flying into NO and getting them to pick me up in it, but I kinda want to do the break in process myself.

Glad our paths crossed and I hope yours treats you as well as mine has treated us thus far. And of course be sure to keep us updated and share some pictures once it comes in!

Just to add, I have to give Aaron some more credit. Post sale can be a let down from dealerships and I was wondering how they would be with handling the dmv paperwork. They do provide a temp tag good for 60 days, but I'm glad to say I got my plates with nearly a month to spare. Any time I emailed Aaron to ask for an update he promptly got back to me with an answer (just as he had throughout the whole process). There was a little slip up in the amount they sent to my dmv for the taxes/registration, I emailed Aaron and they overnighted a new check out in the correct amount the next business day, and provided me the tracking number.

Overall it was a great buying experience (for once) and the communication was great as I mentioned. Other dealers seem to be especially awful at this, and Aaron is actually busy (as we all know just from his business on here alone) so I want to give him a ton of credit for being able to juggle it all.

It's not easy but for me I got the trade quotes first and then told a few dealers what I was willing to pay. Most said no thanks to anything at or below invoice. I ended up at 3% under invoice though (roughly). Invoice was 55441 and my price was 53800 (before incentives). I had trade values from 46000 to 49000 to a buy out of 50,000....then had the dealer I bought from give me 52000 for trade. Confident I really couldn't have done better in today's market. Hopefully there is a rebate for 2022 when it arrives to bring it down even more. But, I now have no truck for quite a few weeks while waiting!

Hmm, I emailed Aaron at Mark Dodge today and asked about Durango orders for 2022, "not yet"... Wonder why Stellantis does one (RAM) and not the other (Durango)?

I had no idea they even handled the DMV work for out of state. That's amazing!

You answered a question lingering in my mind. How would they be after ordering and deposit paid. Looking forward to a good experience through delivery. Fingers crossed. Thanks again. I saved thousands thru this forum. Almost as important, buying was actually a pleasure.

Every brand does that. You’d be hard pressed to find a manufacturer that switches over every single model to the next model year all on the same day. In fact there isn’t one. Even the 2022 HD’s aren’t going to be produced until some time after the 2022 1500’s start production.

It's utterly amazing. I'm saving nearly 13K just by doing some research and being willing to do a little travel.

I asked a local Dodge dealer and just got a “shrug”… you’d think a dealer would basically know at least which month ordering a 21 ended and a 22 began. It’s the identical model, no refresh so there is not any retooling. Sigh.

Well I can tell you currently, 2022 1500 production begins some time next month. Dealers don’t know anything when it comes to…well anything. 😂

**Mis read above... Sorry** :)

The dealers are always the last to know....

I also have a Bronco on order and usually tell my dealer what I learn vs what they tell him......
