I've never ordered a new vehicle. I'm considering it but trying to figure out the logistics of trading or selling my current truck to be replaced with the new one that might arrive 3 months from ordering. I need transportation daily and don't have/don't want an extra vehicle. For those of you whose order is replacing your daily driver, how did you go about that? I can't imagine a dealer locking in a trade offer yet allowing me to continue putting miles on my current truck. And I don't especially like the idea of being bent over a barrel to accept whatever price they want to offer when my truck arrives. Can't just sell ouright ahead of arrival cuz I need something to drive.

FYI: if anyone is looking for a little better information on the shipping progress of their truck Rebecca is on ram chat currently and she actually informed me my truck is offloaded from the train in jersey awaiting loading on a truck for final delivery. Usually I get the sorry my computers do not give me that information. 🤔
No such luck for me. Monica just reiterated the 2 week shipping window. She did however ask me how I was doing this morning.

I will be driving my car from OH to LA to trade it in. I provided the condition of the car and the estimated mileage at trade in based on my regular driving and the 1200 mile roadtrip to trade it in.

It’s amazing how some people have consideration for us on ram chat and others are just miserable and offer us the bare minimum information required of them. I really don’t like work either but find another job if you are that miserable

I still bother ram chat twice a day. In the morning before work and in the evening when I’m having a coffee and smoking a cigarette. Lol. Job security for them

I, too, just chatted with Rebecca and she seemed to give me a more detailed status update than most do. JB status as of this morning, paint yesterday. No build sheet (or window sticker) available yet, when do those typically pop up?

Did the dealer commit to a trade in amount, in writing, based on the information you gave them?

Back in 2016 in regards to my order for my charger, I had a little anxiety when I didn't have an updated status basically every other day..lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, and I will be joining you folks when I place my order for my ram.

Owner of a 2020 Ram Laramie (leveled with 2" rc struts and 1" rear spacer on 33.5" toyo open country) , 16 Dodge Charger scat pack and my wife 21 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara (2.5" rc lift with 35" duratracs)

No official signed paperwork, just via email with the information I provided. I am dealing with Aaron at Mark Dodge and I have a decent level of trust based on my interactions and his reputation. He offered the going rate for the car nothing special, but with Ohio tax laws I only pay tax on the Sale price before rebates minus trade in value. So by trading I get about another 1k of value out of the car.

The only reason I ordered a new truck was the dealer offered me $2500 less than I paid for my '19 about three years ago. They locked in my trade in price and said Im free to add miles to it until my new one comes in.

I was in the same situation. My dealer locked in the trade value for me, and it could go higher if the market dictates it but I have a minimum.

Same here. The dealer estimated XX,XXX miles at trade time and quoted based on that. I suppose if I total it we have a problem, but he'll actually come out ahead unless I rush to put miles on it. I'm over 3K below his estimate and (hopefully) a month from delivery.
