Their pricey, but they are oem and work great. Plug and play.

When I bought my truck. I replaced my stock air system with an aFe cold air intake. I had some family that used aFe products. So when looking at exhaust I saw that aFe had a pretty solid system and figured I’d give it a try. I’ll post pics and/video’s once installed

Brand new Ram owner here. I am looking for a cold air intake for the 5.7L V8 eTorque. I have seen the K&N and a few others but there is no mention if they will have same benefits with the eTorque. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, you will get the same benefits if there are any. I have the Vaaram.

There are very few benefits to any CAI other than the Vararam or the MOPAR Ram Air. You can look at Corsa, S&B, etc. They are all the same. I stay away from K&N and go with dry filter options. You can also use your stock airbox, remove the carbon filter and install a drop-in AFE and you will get the same results for $42 that you would have gotten with $300. These units do very little for HP and Torque regardless of what the manufacturers advertise...their marketing hype is all BS.

Search this forum and you will find a lot of info on CAI's and what folks have done with plenty of pics.

Tinted the turn single with some Vvivid smoke vinyl. Color looks weird in the pictures.

Tempted to do the headlights...anyone have experience with vinyl tint on the LED headlights? How much does it darken the light?

I would not recommend putting any tint on the headlights.

Not only will it darken the light output but it will cause the headlights to trap heat generated from the headlights and be trapped by the reflection of the tint back into the housing. This could cause your headlight housing to crack or melt which will allow for moisture to build up inside the headlight housing.

If you want to black out the headlights I would recommend purchasing some AVS headlight covers. I ran them on my truck for awhile until I purchased the Alpharex headlights.



I just had to remember to take them off the truck when I needed to run the headlights.

Yes, removed the left and right cable locks located closet to the tailgate. I re-installed the plastic cable cover (3 screws), because that piece has the foam bumper used when folding the cover.
Also had to drill out a rivet on each side.

Not really what I did to my RAM today, But what someone else did in the Home Depot Parking lot.

We were both backing out, I stopped when I saw him backing out and laid on the horn, then BAM!
Said a few choice words like #@*& and %$@#.

Home Depot kid just getting off work from the stocking shift. He said sorry and that he was hella tired. His first accident.
His Toyota PU took most of the damage.

Home depot was not much help with the lot security footage.

One more thing to deal with...

Update:
Kid was uninsured and found 100% at fault.
I get a new bumper with no deductible.
Scheduled for next week

I live in San Antonio and I did 30% all around except for the front windshield and the pano sunroof. I did 70% on those. I went with 3M IR ceramic. I love the outcome.

Just started hearing about ceramic tint on this forum. Is it really worth the extra cost? I've never heard of it, but if it really does reduce the heat in the vehicle that would be awesome since I live in AZ where we hit 115 pretty often in the summer time. Regular tint was going to cost me $200 all around. The quote for ceramic tint is $400 plus another $100 if I wanted to do the windshield which I've never heard of people doing before until now. I'm assuming that's a clear tint you're putting on the windshield? Does that just reduce the heat coming through?

Normal tint doesn't do a great job at actually reflecting the heat, and if you get the cheaper tint, it can even make the vehicle HOTTER! Ceramic tint actually has an additional layer of material in it that will reflect the heat and keep your vehicle cooler.

The extra $100 is probably just the visor (what I have on my truck), and I've always been a fan of the visors! I usually go 5% tint on the visor strips, and it results in me almost never having to drop my sun visors down. Especially if i'm wearing sunglasses. Also looks cool IMO. Depending on the tint shop they may go lower or higher on the visor. If you see the AS1 line on the windshield, technically nothing can legally go below that line. I've always gone 3-4" below that line and never had any issues.

Doing the FULL windshield is also a great option especially if doing ceramic. It'll cut down on heat in a BIG way. Typically they will do a VERY light tint (i'm talking like 75% tint where you can barely tell it is tinted) for visibility reasons. Some people even add a dark tint visor on top of the full windshield. However, if you also like to live dangerously, you can do a darker (35% or even 17%) on the windshield. I don't suggest going any darker than 17% unless you want to practice driving by brail rather than vision.

I'm no tint expert, but I've fallen down a few rabbit holes of information over the years. Hope this helps!

Huge help and I think you've sold me on the extra cost. If it's going to cut down on the heat that would be huge. I think I've seen people were doing the 75-80% on the entire windshield, that's what I was curious about as well. I usually go with 35% for the front windows and limo tint in the back, but if I go with the ceramic maybe I won't go so dark in the back if it reflects the heat that well. Thanks again.

I've been using the same Mobile Tint guy for the last 7 years. Great pricing and he comes to my house to do the tint. He uses Solar Gard Vortex Ceramic. He even says it's too expensive lol.
