All the proof you need is that the thing is malfunctioning. Multiple user reports saying the same thing.

Watch below, just a few minutes might safe your life.

That is a very informative video. I bet the Banks product is excellent. However, given what I went through recently, I am staying stock

Only problem that has been confirmed by a few members with the Pedalmonster is the disable in reverse Does NOT work as advertised. PM was the one I was actually leaning toward but their customer service trying to confirm stuff is sub par (tech couldn't answer my question but the receptionist sure did).lol

Sure don't take much too get a heated discussion going. OP had a good word of caution.
BTW , I'm sure you all learned about "glittering generalities " in school. It goes like this: I have a Ram truck. It is a piece of cr@p. Therefore, all Rams are a piece of cr@p, and should be thrown in the trash and stared clear of. I will never buy another one because they are cr@p.
End of generality.

I'll say this...great marketing and amazing acting and embellishment. He should be on a Soap Opera. I have no doubt that what he is saying is correct and I am sure Banks took accurate measurements of the voltage and mA coming off the throttle because they had to to design their product. However, with that being said, why are everyone else's Pedal Commanders not doing what Banks showed in his video? Why have many of us been using it for years without issue? Why has my accelerator never failed to accelerate? Is it something specific that must happen to make this occur? Are all of the stars just not in alignment for those of us that have been using this for years? Did I just not hit that magic mA threshold where my PC failed to operate?

Listen guys, in the end, if you now feel unsafe using your PC than take it out...that simple. If you want to leave it in, leave it in at your own risk. No sense talking about this any more at this point. Banks is clearly trying to sell you their product over all of the others...it's Marketing just like Speed Booster talked trash about all of the others because it's Marketing.

Do what you feel is best for you and call it a day :) We all got the message and thanks to @Kxlexus for bringing his experience to everyone's attention and that he's ok and survived to talk about it. I think the best statement thus far was made by @Trooper4...Nuff said!

Why do some devices only do it only infrequently? Why did the OP's PC work perfect for the first 22,000 miles? They work great until they don't, that's the entire point.

Banks specifically called out mopar cars/trucks in that video, as being unsafe to power devices off of the pedal. In other words, the worst cars/trucks you should use the PC with is our Ram. But notice how he showed a clip of some other truck shutting down too.

You're close but still off. The hemi (for example), has lifter issues, noisy injectors, and has a bad habit of snapping manifold bolts. Doesn't mean that ALL hemis will do all three, but stats are stats; there is a pretty good probability that if you keep your hemi long enough, you will become part of the stats.

As I stated...not looking to get into an argument over it. It happened and no doubt about that. If folks want to keep it in, let them keep it. If they want to remove it, let them remove it. Until we turn Socialist, we can all make our own decisions.

Contact PC support. I had all of these exact issues and they sent a firmware update that I was able to push to the unit through the app and haven’t had issues since.

It can literally be life and death if your pedal either doesn't respond or goes WOT. I'm not trying to convince you, just everybody else who may be considering one.

I think the point has been made and is CRYSTAL CLEAR to everyone that has read this thread. Just let folks decide what they want to do and let it go.

I have had similar experience with Pedal Commander that it wasn't working correctly. I initially had an issue that every 20th or so start up I would get a "Service Traction Control” error. Since I had both the Pedal Commander and a DT Tazer my thoughts were it was one of the two and not playing well together or something. The message would clear after I turned the truck off so it seemed more of an inconvenience than anything. Then one day I had similar issues to what the original poster stated with my truck limping, accelerating on it's own, all the lights on my dash lighting up, etc. I pulled over and decided to remove the Pedal Commander as it was the first thing that came to mind. Viola, no issues. To date, and this was months ago, not one error has appeared. I contacted Pedal Commander Support and basically got a "that sucks" email response, but no resolution or follow-ups. While I did enjoy the adjustments I could make, I have gotten quite used to the stock acceleration. While I have had fleeting thoughts of reinstalling, I am always revisited by the thoughts I had that day my truck became "dangerous" of "I'll never use this thing again if I can pull over safely". Those that Pedal Commander works and works well then awesome, for me it's not worth it.

I did some research before I pulled the trigger and PC was the one with more problems,, that's why I went with the HikeIt, on the Jeep forums I’ve seen some have over 50K miles on it without any hiccups I have almost 10K on mine.

Wow just wow. I came on here to tell of something bad that happened to me and warn others of an unreliable product. You might feel differently if this had happened to you and you almost killed a whole family because of it. But then again, it sounds like perhaps you wouldn’t even care.
Mine isn’t the only one to ever fail. I don’t think they are reliable enough to go on a vehicle of mine ever again. I know there are lots of electrical parts on these trucks and any of them can fail. To me this is an unnecessary part that can cause a lot of problems when it fails. But I am sure you don’t care.
You shared your experience, great. That is what a forum is all about, sir. Really glad as you stated noone was hurt, we really do care. Quit beating your chest, about others comments, push the soapbox back where you store it.
