Here Is What New For 2021...

So was I ordered my2021 limited thinking it was coming with uconnect 5 based on the articles i read at the time. I was disappointed to learn it was not shipping with uconnect 5 that i almost passed on the truck.

Yep, no UC5. Probably 2022 or 23...

By 2023??? Hell, I will have a new truck by then ant they would probably be on uconnect 7 by then.

I’m thinking the 2022 MY will have it. Only way to find out is to wait...
At this point I would not get a 2021 if I could a few more months to find out what changes the 2022s will bring.

I am pretty confident it will be in 2022. However, I wouldn't stop buying a truck because of UC4 versus UC5. I believe that you will see UC5 and the elimination of the rotary shifter in favor of a console shifter like the F150. Other than that, I don't expect many other changes.

What makes you think they would change the shifter? The current placement allows Ram to have the best center console IMO.

FCA said all their products will supposedly have UConnect 5 for 2022 Model Years. Only vehicles that have it in the US currently are the Durango and Pacifica in certain trims as far as I know. And no UConnect 32 won’t be out by then lol, they’ve been on UConnect 4 for what, like 10 years. Not sure how any of this has to do with the new Technology Group tho lol. My ‘21 will have UConnect 4 and I’m fine with that, 5 is gonna need some bugs ironed out anyways, it’s a sick setup tho for sure.

Ford only offers 1,,F-150 model with a console shifter. And for 2022 my local Ford dealer says he was told electric knob shifters will be the most common shifter in the F-150.. (Copying Ram again)

Its unfortunate that when ordering a Laramie 1500 that you can't get the options you want. Could not get the technology or safety package.

Are you sure you can't get these on a Laramie? I could swear folks that bought 2021 Laramie's have one or both of these options. Maybe my bad.

My 2021 Laramie on order has the Tech and Advanced Safety Package on it. Even when I go to the ramtrucks.com website and build one I can add those on. Unless this is a brand new order and the Packages have been updated due to the SemiConductor shortage.
