Can anyone tell me if the Trailer TPMS is something that can be added fairly easily? I have the Laramie with 8" screen, TPMS for the truck and backup camera.

Yes, it’s fairly easy to add. First, you need to see what wiring you already have. There are two modules for the system- the trailer TPM that goes behind the rear bumper license plate. Look to see if there is a 4-way dummy plug connector somewhere behind the driver side license plate light-

The trailer interface module (acts as a gateway) goes on the back cab wall in the center towards the floor.

There’s really no good way to see if the dummy plug for it is present other than pulling the rear seat and back wall molded carpet to see if it’s there. If all wiring is present, then you just buy the trailer TPM module and trailer interface module, plug them in, and enable the system with AlfaOBD. You’ll also need the trailer tire sensors.

Would this only work on a 2021? This wasn't an option for 19-20 was it?
I would say yes. Before buying any hardware, I would enable the three settings with AlfaOBD to make sure the cluster brings up the TTPMS screen, and the BCM logs a fault because of the missing hardware. I just noticed the OP has a 2019, so the wiring definitely won’t be there, but an add-on harness can be easily built and integrated.

I definitely want to do this once we get our truck and was the only thing I wanted without getting the complete trailer group. Thanks @Jimmy07 for the info thus far. I already have the alfaOBD and bypass harness so that’s part of the puzzle. Also, is it possible to post up the part numbers for the modules?

I will ask the dealer if they can do the install for this. I am having the brake controller installed this Thursday. They quoted my $145 including flashing so I thought that was a good price. I already have the controller. It wasn't easy to find and wasn't cheap, $350.00.

The dealer definitely can’t do the install for TTPMS on a 2019. They will not build a custom harness for it, and the sales code can’t be added to your VIN because it doesn’t exist for a 2019-2020 DT. You would have to enable it yourself with AlfaOBD, and I could design the harness to integrate.

Well that would be interesting. You're way out of my skill level, but I'd be curious to see what you come up with.

What would the cost of the custom harness be? Thanks.

I’ll figure it out this weekend and PM you. Before you do anything, this is a gamble if it’ll work on the 2019-2020s, you really need to use AlfaOBD to enable the settings in the BCM to see if the radio and EVIC supports the feature. With the settings enabled, but no hardware/wiring installed, you should get this message on start up-

You should get this screen in the trailer menu-

And you should get this setting in the trailer brake settings menu-

Where do you get a AldaOBD setup?

I've got a 2021 1500. I've pulled the rear seats forward and looked behind the carpet i did find a dummy plug with a terminator in it. What i can't find is the plug near the rear bumper. The picture above looks like an hd truck setup. I already have a keyless sensor installed at that location nothing with a plug like the picture. Does anybody have the trailer tpms setup on a 1500 and can check where the rear tmps reciever actually is. The part numbers for all the bumper harnesses on the 2021 indicate "trailer tire sensor" but dont show where it is.

Here’s the exact location of the connector-

Thanks I crawled under and traced the fascia harness. I unfortunately dont have the harness that has the plug for the receiver. I looked up the tag for the part number of my harness (68488370AA) it confirmed no Trailer TPMS on that harness.

Now, the question is, where do the 4 wires for that module terminate. You would need to see if they are present in the left chassis harness that the rear facia harness plugs into. I could build you the harness for that module to integrate, instead of replacing the whole rear facia harness, and I can point you to what wires you need to look for in the left chassis harness.

Jimmy thanks, will take you up on that except its -5f here in MN. I am going to have to wait a month or so before things warm up enough work on this. Would the harness you make clip inline where the fascia harness and left chassis harness connect?
