Yup I received my first ever chip in my windshield last week - mine was a little bigger than Slackers. Insurance said the same thing as far as who is at fault. Thankfully my insurance filled it and I can barely tell it ever happened.

Mine is so bad that they are talking new windshield. Safelight came out to 'repair' it.. and it looks as bad as it did before it was repaired.

Added these vinyl door sill protectors today. They were a pain to get in with the curve, but after hitting it with the heat gun got most of the bubbles out and they look pretty good (pics are pre heat gun, forgot to snap some afterwards) also added this nice hitch shackle yesterday. Does anyone know of any shackles for the front row hooks???

Did it myself. Ive been doing carbon fiber wrap for a few years now. All it takes is a clean surface, use 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean. Wrap can be purchased from Amazon or Ebay. The center dash surround had to be removed and partially disassembled. Videos online. Not hard. Any flat surface is very easy, just lay it on, use heat gun or hairdryer to smooth out the film. Cut with very sharp razor blade. The complex curved surface are alot tougher. Takes heat and patience to smooth everything out. Practice makes perfect with this, but over all if you take your time its pretty easy. Great videos on YouTube to teach you!

Stepped in front of a lot of rocks

Sounded like I got pelted by a dozen rocks when this dump truck went by the other way

Only noticed this spot so far. Will pull footage off dashcam and see if I can make out a business name

Good luck. Had a rock truck losing its load on the interstate last year, one month after getting windshield replaced in my work van, out three chios in my new windshield. Took pics with my phone and even sent dash cam video to company and after initial reply about having dispatch verify if one of thier trucks was actually on the freeway at that time, I was completely ignored. My company uses Enterprise fleet vans, so not like they pay for maintenance, but still BS

In my experience, you don't have much chance of forcing someone else to take responsibility. Maybe now with dash cam footage you could at least make a good argument. But if the truck was going the other way, I imagine it's tough to prove a rock didn't just kick up from the road. In all my years doing glass repair, I only recall one time where the rock truck company paid to fix a windshield. And even then, they really didn't have to, legally. Can't hurt to try though. I would recommend being nice about it and see if they will reimburse a repair bill, because I doubt there is any way they can be forced to do anything.
Edit: BTW, try to find a good glass shop... dedicated repair shop if possible. And make sure the windshield is dry... either sitting outside facing the sun for a couple hours minimum, or otherwise not exposed to any rain, snow, frost, dew, etc for at least 24 hours. Moisture trapped in the break will interfere with a good repair and a less-than-excellent repair shop will likely screw it up.

Sorry to hear. A decent repair will always look much better after it's done. Not "invisible".... but always better, and usually a "dramatic" difference.
This is what I was talking about in the previous post. Didn't want to name names.... because every shop and every tech is different. I have personally seen Safelite do terrible repairs in my area. But I'm sure some do a decent job. It's not just Safelite. IMO, few glass installers do good repair work. Even some dedicated repair techs aren't too good, but it's a much better option than someone who mostly does replacements.

BTW, I got my OBD wiring harness this week. Still need to download the AlphaOBD app and learn what I'm supposed to do with it now.

I finally put new shoes (35s) on my stock non-ORP Bighorn, and have 5100 struts to level the front but they are still in the box. Right now, front clearance is tight, but working. I bent the factory mud flap mounting tab, and heated/reshaped the plastic as others have done. I did hear it rub one time, when turned full lock, backing into my driveway from the street... slight incline.

I will probably only lift the front 1.5" because I really am not after a lifted look.

So these have been on for almost a month now but after me and the missus returned from our Waco trip I took the truck to the dealer to have them start the warranty claim for my missing bright metal pedals and chrome body side moldings, as well as looking at the ANC since it seemed to go out on the trip. After keeping the truck for three weeks, the dealership replaced the amplifier and the warranty claim was approved but the pedals and trim won't be available until December. So, I have my truck back, finally, and got to take some pictures of my latest addition. Also, as a side note, these are for the Laramie model but my 2021 is a Limited model. Gatorback makes these mudflaps but they aren't making them for the 2021 model year because Ram wants too much for the licensing fees. I'm okay with it because having the Laramie mudflaps is my way of honoring the 9 years that Longhorns were built on the Laramie model.
