So i've read this thread quite a bit and still confused so I'm sorry for this stupid question at this point....

What tonneau covers actually fit with MFT and ramboxes with the silver rails?
I have the exact setup you have and the Bakflip G2 fits perfectly - even with the tie-down rails.

Hopefully you got it through Amazon or eBay free returns if it doesn’t! The resale on these covers suck!
I have a “used like new” MX4 coming in tomorrow. I’ll post it up if it works, my gator recoil sags pretty bad...

right on brackets?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've been on the road since the 13th and did not see your post. The Right On Brackets are made to replace the plastic brackets that Ram uses in the Ram 1500s with the MFT but no Ramboxes. Here's a link to the website if you want to check them out: https://rightonbracket.com/product/ram-truck-bed-brackets/ I believe if you search Right On brackets in the forum, you will see lots of posts and pictures of people who have used them to install tonneau covers that wouldn't otherwise work with the Ram brackets.

I ordered a set since I plan on getting the Bak Revolver X4 once @Kooch80 lets me know whether it will work with the Right On brackets. ;) He got his shipment notice the other day so hopefully he will get it installed this weekend and everything will go OK, and he will post tons of pics and helpful hints about getting it installed perfectly. :ROFLMAO: Even if the Revolver X4 turns out not to work with the Right On brackets, I plan on installing them anyways since I think they are stronger than the original Ram brackets.

If it doesn't work with the brackets I plan to use it without any brackets. I had an MX4 on my last Ram and I liked it except for not being able to see it my back window with it folded all the way up. That is why I went with the X4 this time

Yeah that is kind of a pain, i rarely have enough in the bed to flip it all the way up, maybe once or twice. The MX4 i got was 680, so figured i would give it a whirl.

Also, do you have any reservations without the brackets? I probably ran them for a month without the brackets. Couldn't figure out what they supported.

I dunno, engineers know a lot more than me. I trust they put it there for a valid reason and did more testing than one of us say "I removed it and didn't notice any issue". Plus the beancounters at FCA are not going to allow the factory to just add pieces to make tonneau cover selections difficult. It costs material and labor to install that. It has to provide some sort of long term benefit due to the MFT. I'm going to run the oem brackets or the Right on's. I've made peace with the fact, I will not get the flat tonneau I wanted due to me opting for the MFT. I'm going the cheap soft roll up route like the Lund Genesis Elite or Access Vanish to buy me time until one of the major manufacturers come up with a solution for the flush tonneaus like the MX4.

I had a Gator tri fold on my F150 and I didn't mind it blocking my rear window. A child sitting on the cover and bending it made me move on. I then went with a Bakflip Revolver. Overall I really liked that one, but when I stuffed an atv in the bed of the truck it made the tonneau rub on my rear window and scratch it permanently.

I do have some reservations but not right to stop me from using a cover I want. I figure my tailgate is closed almost all the time and when I use the barn door style I am not putting weight on it

Don't worry, Kooch. I have faith that the Revolver will fit and work perfectly with the Right On brackets. :D

I received the Revolver X4 yesterday, already had the right on brackets (thank you for your quick shipping). BAK must have terrible quality control. I had everything but one part was wrong, luckily it was a cheap and easy to replace part, a lock nut. Still pisses me off though, it is a $1000 cover and they can't even get that right. I wish I would've checked the width of the bed at the cab and at the tailgate before starting. The biggest issue with install was getting the rails wide enough at the cab end. I ended up cutting part of the rail on one side to make it fit over the bracket and make it work. But make it work I did. It does not close well with the tailgate closed but there is room for adjustment. I might be happier with the tight seal there and just leave it though. If the right on brackets were 1/8 to 1/4 thinner on the side the rails attach they might work without trimming.

That looks great, Kooch! Now that I know it can be done, I will order my Revolver X4 asap, and I will be sure to remind them to include all of the right parts. ;) Thanks for showing us the way.

Neato -the cover looks awesome. Do you feel like the cut rail could be a source of major water intrusion? How does it seal at the top?

Also, where does the X4 drop in to connect with the rails?

I don't think it will be an issue where I cut the rail. The rails are cut on the tailgate end from the factory in the same fashion. The cab end is where I am just likely to get water intrusion from. I definitely do not think this top will be water proof, probably not as good as the Backflip MX4 I had in my last Ram. I added more foam on top of what was provided, not seen in picture.

Good evening everyone,

We're working on different designs to combat the tight installation fit. The issue is the spray on bed liner can be thicker in the corners, causing the bracket to be off slightly. We created our brackets using the OEM hole design. We're working on widening the holes or creating slots instead. Here's a like to our RAM Truck Bed Bracket product page:

RAM Truck Bed Brackets

From having conversations with everyone we've worked with, seems like these brackets have been working great for the most part! We understand installation can be tricky and if they don't work for you, just send them back for a full refund!

Thanks everyone for working with us on this! We're a shelving/countertop support bracket company really making a push into the automotive industry it seems like!

Also, keep sending us installation photos! We love seeing our products on your new trucks!

Pete, your brackets work great and I have been following your progress on them since you started posting on here. I was trying to provide some feedback was all. Completely happy with your product. The widened holes are a big help with alignment in regards to where there is more spray from the liners. What looked like was going to be a difficult spot to get bolts in were in fact no problem because of the hole design on your brackets. I purchased the top knowing full well that modifications were highly probable. Thanks again for your work on the brackets, you are the only one in the industry doing anything that works!

How's the rigidity of the cover? From the videos it looks like it sags a bit when pressed on.

Haven't tested that really, just went out and pressed on it though. Feels less rigid than the Backflip did. That is a very subjective question though
