Whenever mine decides to crack, I’ve already got a quote from a glass shop to get a solid rear window installed. Rather pay and go that route then keep getting garbage rear windows put in that will just keep cracking.

What price is the glass shop quoting? Do the 5th gen Rams even come with a sold rear window? I’ve never seen one with it.

Had my truck in the shop twice for a water leak. First time they thought it was coming from the antenna (even though I told them I read issues with the rear light and the window surround). Stepped on top of my Retrax Tonneau instead of just rolling it up, also half a muddy foot print on the side of my truck and scratches and black marks on the front of the cab. WTF? Unhappy to say the least. Anyway, after all that, it sill leaked. Dropped it off this morning and got a call late this afternoon that it was the rear brake light. Who would a thought? Parts on order and will be fixed tomorrow. Hope the truck isn't trashed this time.

Yes you can get the backlite that comes with the tradesman. Solid. Somewhere on one of these threads someone listed the part number. On Facebook 5th gen user group someone said safelite came to their house and installed for 360.00 not sure if that included glass.

When you get it home take the 3rd light off and replace the seal with the rubberized one we’ve all used from Lowe’s or Amazon. Otherwise it’s going to leak again at some point. The foam gasket on the original deforms easily and loses its tension letting water in

My 2020 rebel started leaking Sunday. Right about where 3rd light is. Also the bezel looks cracked. That a normal seam? Dropped off at dealer yesterday. Well see what they say.. is the consensus I should be getting a new window?

Video of leak:

New window at least and perhaps a leaking 3rd brake light too. Usually the window leak would be coming out of the crack. Water on that lip usually means brake light.

The leak definitely looks like the CHSML since it's coming from the headliner. My leak started at the crack and dripped down.

You should get a new window too. That's a noticeable crack. The TSB says to run a fingernail across the area. If it's a seam then it's okay but if it is cracked then it's a new window.

You need a new rear window and a 3rd brake light. Leak is the light and crack means new window.

Safelite quoted $399 including the rear window. Solid rear window. Also the Mopar part number for the solid glass is 68303349AD.

That’s a damn good price Do you have to do some of the seat disassembly? Or do they do that too. I assume they use the mopar tinted window? That might be what I do if this window fails. It would be 3 including the original if mine cracks again

I just went on safelites website and did a price quote. You have the option to select sliding or fixed rear window replacement. I choose the fixed rear window. I’m pretty mechanically inclined so I would probably take my backseat out myself before I go. Less for them to screw up haha.

Just had my backseat out for sound deadening. Pretty straight forward, but there was a lot of blue Loctite on the bolts and my tool kit is lacking an air ratchet. My arm was like a wet noodle by the end

My bad. It is a STAR Case and not a TSB. STAR Case number S2023000024. Posted by Maconi in post #840 of this thread:

My quote in west Michigan came to 529.00 on their website or 489 for a non heated version
