New member here. Coming from a 2015 F150 ecoboost. Bought this Built To Serve in Patriotic Blue Pearl a few days ago. Has some great options I wasn't even looking for: sunroof and rambox.

So far I'm really loving it and feel great about the price (relative to other trucks on the market). MSRP of $56k, paid $42.5k OTD (including 600 in "fees").... That includes my sales taxe of $0, since I live in Montana! I had to drive 9 hours to the dealer in Idaho that had this truck priced right, but it was worth the drive and the guys at Dennis Dillon in Caldwell, ID were great to work with.

I never served in the military, but I've always been drawn to the military and find ways to get involved in groups and organizations that involve and give back to our service members and families. Discovering the BTS editions was a great surprise.

Initially I wanted a Laramie, but since I'll put alot of work miles on this truck, the reimbursement gets less favorable as value increases so this seemed like a great middle ground of cost efficiency while retaining some excitement factor.... Different from all the big horns on the road.

I want to do my part to add data to the spring-gate conundrum. It looks like I am a lucky one that got the right parts. I noticed that it sits higher than non-ORG rams, and I can see the difference even without putting the trucks side-by-side. my sticker is attached. My ride heights (center of hub to fender) are:
Driver front: 22.25"
Pass front: 22.5"
Driver rear: 24"
Pass rear: 24"

options include: tow group, level 2, 3.92 axle ratio, non-etorque, 33 gallon tank, blind spot detect, rambox, sunroof

Is there a better place for this question?.... I couldn't find an applicable thread.

I would like to see other people's ideas about patches for the hook and loop on the seats, and different ideas to use the MOLLE strips on the seatbacks. I'm not a veteran, but I like to show support for our military and police. Also, any good sources for fun patches for non-military topics such as #dadlife, mountain biking, farming, dogs, etc.?

Thanks for contributing, i dont know what im more envious of, the fact that you got the ORP springs, or that 33 gallon tank :sneaky:

Im still trying to decide what to use my MOLLE strips for. I was thinking of getting a couple of pouches from 5.11 but it might take away from rear passenger foot room. Im also looking for some good patches, ill post if i find a good source. Most ive found are iron on

Ask your police/military buddies if they have any velcro patches you could have. Alternatively there are a bunch of options on amazon if you search for velcro moral patches.

Check on Amazon for patches. You can find a wide variety, and any patch can have velcro seen onto it if you can't find one that already has velcro.

As for ideas, even if you aren't a Vet, flag patches are always good. Currently I just have a flag oatxh on the side of each seat, and a Navy patch on passenger side front, and those went on the day I brought it home. Also put a weathered flag overlay on the shift knob.

I put these on. The set came with 1 in each direction for proper orientation.

It looks like if you dig deep enough on amazon there are quite a few decent looking patches available. An Air Force friend of mine suggested aviatorgear.com, and they have a lot of high quality patches, but I'm concerned about looking too legit and creating a situation that could be interpreted as stolen valor.

That brings up another question... how many people that have BTS trucks are active duty or veterans? Maybe that would be a cool poll topic. For those of you that are... thank you for your sacrifice.

Honestly this almost makes me want to just forget about the springs. I'm at 22" in the front and 24.5 in the rear (I may need to remeasure the rear) and our trucks are near identical. I also have the 33 gallon tank. I think the only difference I see between the trucks is that I have e torque and the 12" screen. Other wise they're twins.

You may want to actually look at the sticker on your springs and verify. You are 1" lower than those who have visually verified the spring part numbers installed on thier trucks

I found a good selection at my local army surplus store. Lots of Velcro patches that aren't military specific.

Springate update: I got a call back from Ram Care, clearly the person I talked to 3 days ago, either didn't pay any attention to what I said, or she just wasn't able to properly relay it to the supervisor.
My second call was with a different person today, whom I think (fingers crossed) understood my question and wasn't just one of those kids who nods yes to everything in class only to bomb the quiz.
It just doesn't make sense to me why they would advertise the truck as including the ORG (right on the ram site) only to exclude the ORG springs from the package on our trucks. The person I did talk to said that in 5-years he's been with the brand, he's seen it happen once, that the wrong parts were pulled from the bin at production and they coordinated a repair with the local dealer. Has anyone ever had any success emailing Ram for help rather than calling and trying to explain the issue to someone?

It was easier when I spoke to the person handling my case than trying to explain it over email. Its most certainly a mixup at a assembly line.

Is the BTS supposed to have "wheel to wheel" side steps? I have black side steps, but they don't go all the way to the rear wheel... They clearly are only designed to service the two doors, not the front of the bed.

Those are the correct running boards. Theyre called “wheel to wheel” but they really just cover the 2 doors.

Idk if I mentioned this already but there's a guy in the 5thgen Facebook group whose saying his Rebel measures 22" as well. Spring-gate intensifies.

I wouldnt be surprised if this issue extended beyond the BTS’ and into other package/trim options
