Alot of guys are running the VLED license plate reverse light along with a curt harness adapter so there is no need to splice into the factory harness.

This light is not compatible with the multi function tailgate.

Ended up ordering the Brackets, Install was 100% play and play no drilling or splicing factory wires the way I ended up doing it. Part numbers are below for products used and some pictures of the lights on the truck. High quality Product from ZroadZ. Only issue with bracket and using rough country lights is the lights are a little short as shown in the picture, simple fix installing a few washers or a spacer.

ZRoadz Bracket: Z384821
Rough Country Light: 70706BL
Curt Trailer Adapter Harness: 56584
Curt Trailer Harness (not nessasary but cleaner install) : 58550

Has anyone tried out the Zroadz Backup light bracket below? Looking for a way to mount some lights without drilling any holes, so everything is reversible.
FYI, lot of options. Unless Vleds were updated there are issues with rubbing on the tailgate.

I did this MOD super easy! I was done with in an hour and only spent $120 on everything needed for the job( light, T-harness, and 5 way plug) I now have an option to use a trailer that is wired with a 5 way flat harness.

I also have the VLED, I just tapped into my reverse signal though. In case any of you don't know, the tailgate on our trucks will make contact with the VLED light when it's all the way down. I put a small strip of black foam across the top of my light to pad it. Don't notice it's there and helps protect the paint on the tailgate.

Do you have LED tail lights?

I bought the Vled plate lamp too. Haven’t installed it yet. I plan to just mount it upside down on the bottom of the plate to avoid issues with the tailgate.

Dark Dune sell some heavy duty reverse light brackets. They are the only reverse light brackets I've found that anchor at 2 points per bracket so they're pretty rigid. Direct bolt on too, you can check them out here:

Could some people show how they have attached their back up lights an not spend $200 on brackets?

I installed two little rock lights in the plastic trim next to the exhaust tips and wired them to the reverse wire on a T harness for the trailer plug. Total investment was $80 and they light up everything.

Here is the pictures taken tonight almost pitch black with a small glow from street lights. The only item I did not add was the other side of the 5 way plug I used to hook up to the T harness so it would be plug and play. I only used two lights one on each side as shown in the picture.

Back to the light brackets I did install the dark dune bracket and a pair of 6" legs I picked up from amazon...was a little tight get it situated on the driver's side as I have the bed step but was able to figure it out..pretty happy with it all plug and play and no cutting into the truck wiring just used the curt 56584 adapter and the 5 pin male trailer harness that I soldered both lights into.

Deleting the off-topic argument; take a deep breath my fellow Ram forum members there is room in this world for both of your perspectives. Please remember we are here to share ideas about our trucks not tear them, or each other, down. 🍻 Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

That looks nice! Good job! The T harness is worth its weight in gold when wiring in the lights.

yes I do, but he VLED light fail with less than a year and did a more cost effective mod that works better down below.
