Was told that an aftermarket head unit would make the truck inoperable

I would tend to agree. There is so much vehicle configuration control in the factory units that an aftermarket head unit would never cover. What you CAN do is upgrade from what you have to a higher teared factory unit. For example remove your UConnect 8.4 and install the UConnect 8.4 NAV, or even the UConnect 12. These are plug and play (for the most part) after a reflash with AlfaOBD.

Wish I knew what configurations there are. The only thing I can think of available in my 5” is how long the lights stay on when the doors close.

If my 12" ever goes on the fritz and quits, this may be the next option. But for now I'll just stick with what I have.

I made a few other changes to my truck while changing the tire size and now it's lit up like a Christmas tree.

All the Park sense, Col warning, traction control, lane sense, ABS, steering control, 4WD etc is all throwing errors.

One of the options was to enable off road camera and then off road. Didn't seem to do anything but break the 360 surround and the power steps so I set them back to what they were.

It's not shown, but the wheelbase was actually not set, then I noticed after an AlhpaOBD update, it was set incorrectly at 120". I've tried to unset it and set it to 160" and it doesn't seem to matter.

I've made many key cycles and driven the truck and cleared a few fault codes like U412 U415 and it won't clear itself up.

I don't know if the truck just needs more time or ??

Any thoughts? Any way to reset the BCM? All I've really done is DRL and added TTPMS.

Changes made to the following but all set back to original.

Car configuration change: Speedometer Range Max Scale: ' NOT SET ' -> '5 '
Car configuration change: Actual Gear Display: ' NO ' -> '1 '
Car configuration change: Manual DPF Regeneration Present: ' NO ' -> '1 '
Car configuration change: Wiper Service Position Enabled: ' NO ' -> '1 '
Car configuration change: Maximum Vehicle Speed (0 - 500km/h): '400.000 KM/H ' -> '100 '
Car configuration change: Max Load Inflation Pressure Front Tire (0-126PSI): '65.000 PSI ' -> '80 '
Car configuration change: Off-road Mode Present: ' NO ' -> '1 '
Car configuration change: Off-road Camera Present: ' NO ' -> '1 '
Car configuration change: Off-road Camera Present: ' YES ' -> '0 '
Car configuration change: Off-road Mode Present: ' YES ' -> '0 '
Car configuration change: Maximum Vehicle Speed (0 - 500km/h): '200.000 KM/H ' -> '250 '

I've read through this thread several times, will the alphaobd shut off those annoying weather alerts from 100+ miles away?

Cleared it up.

I hadn't done the ABS Init after changing the tire size.

P.S. AlphaOBD still can't clear all the CEL codes. I had to use Torque.

If you toggle it, the next engine start triggers a regeneration cycle. You can't drive the truck until it is done. It revs the engine to warm it up and walks you through the process on the dash display. It takes about 25 minutes from what I see.

What setting are you guys using to connect to the BCM now on a 5th gen for changes such as adding bed lights or trailer package? Since the recent updates there are lots of 2019 and 2020 powerNET options. I suspect just about any of them will work and there are just slight variances?

Also maybe it’s just the old phone I put it on but the demo version I downloaded today gave me the message about 15 minute expiration but then has continued to work since. Might be worth someone else checking too.

doesn't matter which you select it will connect to the one in your truck.

You have to run an older version if an option is missing and you want to risk it.

The demo is read only. Every 15 mins it kicks you back yo the start selection screen. that's all.

Makes sense but why are there so many choices under body computer? These are all different ‘databases?

Noob question...I have the OBDLink MX+, do I need anything else besides the Alpha OBD PC software to be able to use it? I'm looking to enable the Tailgate -Ajar warning on my truck, that's probably all I'll use this for.

Do you have a security bypass module?
