Best Exhaust / Yes, I’ve used the search bar

I’m looking for the best sounding exhaust for our 5.7’s. Doesn’t necessarily need to be a full catback.

I’m looking for slightly louder than stock. I do 120 miles of highway driving a day so I prefer no drone as well.

Anytime I search for exhausts, everyone seems to just want the loudest such as Carven.

Any suggestions?

It’s all in personal preference. Best bet is to get some ear buds in and check out sound clips. For what you say you want. You will probably want to look at mufflex 18”-24” bolt on muffler.

Many here have installed b2fab 14” magnaflow and that being a happy medium- nice noise when want and quite when not.

I’m personally dead set on getting the Magnaflow 19430 kit. I’ve worked on a bunch of vehicles with magnaflows installed and have liked every one of them. Noticeably louder than stock but subtle at the same time. And no real increase in interior noise level.

If you want absolutely no drone. Magnaflow 18 inch would be best option. I had 14 on my previous ram sound much better than 18 inch I am currently have. but produced noticeable drone specifically MDS notes.

From my less than extensive research:

Magnaflow 19430 and the Borla S-Type will give you what you are looking for.

If you want one that pisses off your neighborhood, Borla Atak.

Im personally going with the Magnaflow.

And OP if you’re in NJ you can take a ride to Mufflex’s shop and they will weld it on for you for like $50.

although you can buy the magnaflow in any size you want and then any decent muffler shop can weld it on for you. These aftermarket applications are for those of us who want to “bolt it on” ourselves. These kits turn the magnaflows into bolt on mufflers.

Oh awesome! I didn’t know that. I can’t find an exact sound clip of the 18” muffler. Does anyone have the mufflex 18” with a sound clip?

Forget the s-type right away.... mine was install friday and i don't know if i will return to stock or adding their resonator that will "remove edge" from this exhaust. VERY LOUD and sound more like OLD TRUCK WITH MISSING PARTS than a tune exhaust system. If you live in a place with hills, it will sound like a old cesna plane. If someone goes the resonator way, please chime in... My only hope with this exhaust is that it will settle with 1kmiles like someone else tell.

members have added the resonator to their borlas. If you do a search you might find it otherwise maybe they will see this and chime in. From what I remember they were happier after adding it

Magnaflow part number 14359.
Most busy muffler shop should have this item in stock.

there is probably a clip somewhere. Do a search on Mufflex 18” or the exact part number. Try to find a clip on the 2019 or 2020 ram. It will be meaningless to listen to it on a previous generation ram because the exhaust inlet/outlet and resonators were different, so an 18” magnaflow/Mufflex on a prev gen (prior to 2019) will be quite a bit louder than on our models.

And what i want to know: did the resonator resolve the intensity in db or the "TRASHYMISSINGPARTS" thing. For Type S lover, no judging....

Yeah that I can’t answer. I haven’t heard it described that way before. I have always heard the borla is very high quality. Some just think it’s too loud for them. Others go straight for the Attack or even a delete so obviously sound is very subjective. Have you thoroughly checked that all clamps and connections are tight? Maybe you got a bad muffler and the internal baffling has come undone? Might want to call borla and see if they can have a shop listen to it and potentially swap out the muffler if that’s the issue.

Why not something like the Borla Touring? Isn't it basically stock volume with slightly better sound? Or is the magnaflow just that much better?

Second this! I’ve had it on my ‘10 and ‘19. Produces a deep, thundering note that’s not too much. Hate the crackling, raspy pop noise Borla makes. Quality sound on the Hemi!!!

Yeah... email them for the resonator solution... but my experience is the same one from other user(him or her with the touring setup). After install, I am questioning myself if the wrong exhaust(attak vs s type) get install? But the box really show an s type...
