Finally got to drive both the Chevy 3.0 Diesel and the RAM 3.0 Diesel today. Wow, RAM has really blown Chevy out of the water on almost everything. Only part of the Chevy I liked better was the camera system. Chevy trucks ride so much rougher, not sure why anyone would want one over the RAM today. Anyway, this truck is for my Dad who went with me and agrees. Only negative he has in the RAM is he'd prefer the engine were built in the USA. The Chevy had the start stop feature, which I don't mind, but found it odd to be on a diesel engine. I plan to get the Hemi on mine when I decide to purchase, and looking forward to the advanced start stop on that engine due to how smooth and seamless it is. Glad the 3.0 RAM diesel doesn't have that feature. Just seems out of place on a diesel to shut down a lot. But overall, the RAM just hit a home run in our opinion. Thanks to everyone on helping out with info on these.
The start/stop isn't as invisible as they'd have you believe. Drive a few and you'll see. It's not bad...just not invisible or seamless.

Saw one today on a lot with a 3.21. Somebody was feeding you some B.S.
Not sure what they have on the lots, but you can't build 3.0 ED on configurator with other than 3.92.

My dealer (Kernersville RAM in Central NC) has 25 listed tonight on their inventory, from Big Horns through Limiteds. Cheapest was $50K through $64K. I looked at the online window stickers on 7 and 6 were 3.92, the 3.21 was a Limited. If this helps...

Some slight differences:
The 4x2 Big Horns and Laramies that had a 3.92 were rated at 26 combined, 22 city and 32 highway.
The Rebel was 24/21/29
The 4x4 Big Horn and Laramies were same as the Rebel (24/21/29)
The only 3.21 truck was a Limited 4x4, it was 26/22/32

According to the site, they have four Limited 4x4 diesels. All four have the 3.92 rear axle showing as a $95 option. A 4x2 unit is showing a standard axle.
When I ordered my Limited 4x4 diesel a couple of weeks ago, I was told the 3.92 was the only axle available for that configuration.

Weird that you were told the only axle option was 3.92, that really doesn't make sense. Also what doesn't make sense is that the Pentstar can have a 3.55 and the hemi cannot (better choice than the 3.21 for me).
I did have a dealer (Koons up in Virginia somewhere) tell me that due to their purchase volume, they could configure a truck differently than an individual buyer could. This was last April when I was looking at one on their lot that had a couple option choices I couldn't spec off the configurator. How true that statement was I am unsure but they did have a "different" optioned truck and I was wondering how it came to be.

Can you send a link to the window sticker of the 4x4 ecodiesel with a 3.21?

31dodge.com is their general link, then search under new inventory. That's all I looked at this am.

Oops, I typed 4x4 Limited and its a 4x2. However, knowing this dealer is a large volume one, if they could spec a 3.21 in 4x2, I'd imagine they could in a 4x4...

Edit - I started looking around at the larger dealers that I was aware of, Koons, Dillon, Lara for example. None had any 3.0's listed as being on their lots. I think the Kernersville RAM ones were "in transit". So other than special ordering one through a high-volume dealer (try calling them 1st), don't quite know what to tell you all.

I took delivery on a Limited 3.0L Diesel yesterday. drove 325 mile home mostly at 72 mph in 34 F and avg mpg was 28.2
I suspect it will improve after more miles and with warmer weather.
Where bought from? Price/details...
