2020 1500 - any news?

All of my local dealerships are only taking orders for 2020

But not for the eco diesel. Apparently that'll be available in the fall

Ok...but are they submitting them yet to FCA and getting a build sheet/confirmation? As I said, dealer can stockpile orders but that doesn't mean they are being routed into the system yet but can once it opens up. Now is the dealer's "dead period"...they want to get in as many people and start taking orders now so as to get the new model trucks going in production and take delivery asap to get a jump on 2020 model sales & 3rd and 4 th quarter profits.

Don't know if you want to or are able but ask your dealer to show you a FCA build acceptance order sheet with confirmation of date of acceptance & entry into system. My bet is dealer will hem and haw and give you some BS about a delay or whatever.

Despite what others are posting, FCA 2020 orders are not being accepted yet....dealers may be bringing people in and getting info on what to order (from what I've heard, no changes for the 2020 model other than the 3.0 l Eco diesel which would be a simple order addition/swap) and will then have a stack of orders to process when ordering opens but as of yet, no dice. I was told originally around mid July it will open up.

Yeah, I just took a test drive in a Laramie Longhorn yesterday (NICE!) but told the salesman I was holding out to order a 2020 model - and he said it's not open yet.

Put my order in last week. Dealer said ordering was open. I’ll ask for FCA build acceptance. Not sure he got confirmation of date.

I ordered my 2020 last week. The told me that the VIN was issued and production should start in early August for the 2020s

Put my 2020 Laramie Longhorn order in on 7/6 and received my VIN 7/12.

Laramie Longhorn is what I'm interested in as well. Were the options to choose from exactly the same as the '19, or differences? I wish they would update the website.

The prices, believe it or not, were cheaper. Same options on my quote for the 2020 except added the off road group and was almost $1,000 less than the quote for the 2019 order without the off road group.

One option I chose that changed was the bed utility group now includes the deployable bed step. I didn’t go with the diesel. I got just about every option except for the trailer mirrors which was part of the trailer tow group.

Ah, forgot about the tailgate. I did order Ramboxes but not multi function tailgate. I now wish I had but maybe someone will come up with a third party retrofit in the future.

The Multi-Function Tailgate has added a paint color and is now available (as of July 15) in only these 4 paint colors -- Black, White, Granite Crystal and Flame Red.
