North Package Question

I have the tow package.
I did read your posts and forgot. Sorry. I suspect if "memory mirrors" is in your build sheet you were suppose to have them. I know you lose power folding, because they state that when building one. Can you still power adjust your mirrors? If so, "memory mirrors" should still be able to work on yours.

@RamCares can get you a specialist. Though you may want to wait until my truck is looked over. It will most likely cause a TSB to be issued.

I can adjust my mirrors by power (I think? I forget sitting here in my recliner) but I don't have the memory buttons. If I was supposed to have them, honestly I don't care if they're missing. No one drives my truck except me, and I don't change the mirrors unless one gets knocked out of place.

You're lucky. My wife takes mine a couple times a week. You know how it takes a couple attempts to get it, "just right"? The next day is when she wants to take my truck instead of her Caddy.:D:oops:

We are good there. My wife has a new Cadillac XT5, she just likes to drive the truck also. I don't drive hers unless she neeeeds the truck for something and I have to go somewhere during the same time and also need to bring my son. Otherwise I take my cage free transportation.

If you don't have the buttons on the door, how would you ever set the position of the mirrors in memory, so that the truck knows where to restore them to?
Because your key fob is the profile, if that's how it works. It remembers certain settings based on what fob is in use. Entering the car with a certain fob is equivalent to pressing a "profile 1" button.

My 2011 BMW does exactly this. Seat and mirrors auto adjust depending on what fob I open the car with.

My 2017 Nissan rogue also did this, except it took it a step further and also remembered fuel economy and trip data to the given key fob.

Again, not saying that's what's happening here, just speculating because I have another car that does this.

The owners manual disagrees with you. It states you need the door buttons to assign and set the individual driver profiles, then you can set the key fobs up by using the same door mounted buttons(which we don't have).

Hey, guys and gals. Dropped my truck off today. Waiting on my dealer to get in contact with his regional manager.

I hand my key to a buddy and let him drive. He adjusts the seat and mirrors. I get back in the driver’s seat with the same key my buddy was using. How’s it going to know to restore my settings or what to set them to?

Like I said, didn't know if that was the case with the rams, just saying how my other cars work. Thanks for posting, that should clarify this specific issue for anyone.

On my BMW and rogue, it needs to be 2 different key fobs, not the same one. Each fob is recognized uniquely. But as the above guy said from the manual, our trucks don't work this way and are apparently missing buttons.

I will be picking my truck up from the dealer today. They no longer need it to check for the missing memory mirrors.

Through the process, I helped inform them that the problem is bigger than my truck and bigger than the "North Edition". It extends to the "Sport Package" and "Black Appearance Package" also.

I suggested to them to remove it as part of the packages so they don't have more trucks missing an "included" item and so they don't have to change manufacturing. I told them that the little tab next to "mirrors w/memory", which explains exactly what you get with that option, is what really puts them in a no wiggle room situation.

I was told, "Kyle is working on a solution. In the meanwhile they would like you to pick up your truck". I failed to ask who Kyle is. I will ask later today. I assume regional or district manager.

I'll keep you all posted when I hear anything.

Kyle is probably the poor guy tasked with editing the website. It sounds like you're saying (by not saying) that they have otherwise compensated you for the missing feature, and not that they will be adding the mirrors. Did they determine that there's a whole bunch more missing other than the visible buttons?

No compensation yet. "Kyle" is still figuring out what to do about the whole situation. None of the required wiring or modules are in my truck or any of the other trucks.

I'm saying, they no longer need my truck because it is a much larger issue than my truck. No need for them to keep paying for my loaner when they can glean nothing more from my truck. When Kyle or those above him figure out a solution/ course of action, I will be called.

Ah, gotcha. That makes sense. Did they mention any kind of timeline?

No. Though I won't be picking my truck up until around 4pm eastern, when I get off work. I'll find out who Kyle is, but doubt there is a timeline yet with how broad the issue is.

I found out Kyle is an "area manager" that liaisons for 10 dealerships.

As presumed, no timeline.

Since all the North Edition really is, is a bunch of options sourced from the Off Road Group and the Sport Package, I wouldn't think memory mirrors would be available since they are not part of either of those. I don't have it on mine and I don't remember seeing it as an option on the Big Horn.

I've been through this whole thing with Chrysler. We all know what the North Edition is a combination of, that is why we like it. Go to Ramtrucks.com start to build a Big Horn. Just click "packages". Look at what is included in "North Edition", "Sport" and "Black Apperance" packages. You will see "mirrors w/memory", there is a tab that when clicked, explains what you get with that.

You are correct that those packages DO NOT come with memory mirrors. That is why, Ram stating it does on their site and our build sheets is a huge issue.

You're right - when you build this truck online, it says it comes with memory mirrors. I added the tow package, which is what my truck has, and it didn't take that away. So I'm guessing they don't have it set up right on the website, because I wouldn't be surprised if the tow mirrors negate the memory function for whatever reason. If that's not the case, then they are advertising you get something when you don't. For me, I couldn't care less one way or the other, but it may be useful for some people and if they say you get something you should get it.
