I installed the LUX Max White Truck Bed Kit today. It comes with 4 LED's and a push button switch. Thanks to All the post especially Jordan's and rtl Colorado's. the job went smooth. Also thanks to RAM for providing that nice ground by the spare tire. These LED's are magnetic so I can move to out to the side or back if needed.

Damn dude, the magnet idea is awesome. I can think of 100 reasons why I would need to move the light to face outward, I think I have my next project....

My truck didn't come with the bed utility group so I missed out on the bed lights, which are very useful especially if you have a tonneau cover. So I found the wiring diagram and followed the wires from the third brake light down to the driver side rear kick plate, my plan was to tie into the wires suppling power to the cargo lamps which would turn on the led strips whenever the cargo light was on. I found the wire pretty easily (just a couple trim pieces to remove) it was a white wire with a tan tracer. From there its very simple, just install whatever light you want and ground one side to the body and connect the other side to the white and tan wire. And now you have bed lights for under $20. PS, If you run into an issue where the aftermarket lights don't work I recommend swapping the cargo lights mounted in the third brake light housing to LED, that has solved the issue for the couple of people it happened to. My truck didn't come with the bed utility group so I missed out on the bed lights, which are very useful especially if you have a tonneau cover. So I found the wiring diagram and followed the wires from the third brake light down to the driver side rear kick plate, my plan was to tie into the wires suppling power to the cargo lamps which would turn on the led strips whenever the cargo light was on. From there its very simple, just install whatever light you want and ground one side to the body and connect the other side to the white and tan wire. And now you have bed lights for under $20. Thanks to all for the great information about the bed lights. I have one more strange question about this installation. I was recently given two OEM bed lights for the Ram, but the lights did not come with the harness assembly. They just have the wire clips to attach to the harness. My question is, can I connect those lights to the the wires suppling power to the cargo lamps ? The white with the tan stripe one. The lights look like they are LED, so I assume that they are from the led package. I am very interested in finding a solution, and make this project work. If they are LED, will I have to change the cargo light bulbs to LED? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My bed lights are aftermarket and got my power from the white and tan wire for the cargo lights. I also changed my cargo lights to LED.

Nice job. Where did you find the wiring diagram? I want to try and find out if my truck has the wires for the 2nd row usb ports.

You have to buy a subscription, the easiest way would be to pull off that panel and see for yourself.

I know but I have yet to discover the best way to break open the center console to investigate. This being my first ever new vehicle I dont want to damage anything. It was different with all my others since they were used and older.

Pull the “u” shaped faux wooden piece straight up. Remove a few screws and pull the large plastic trim piece with the ac vents straight back. Hope that helps.

I don’t really know, I remember reading that someone tried it without success. Maybe they didn’t know what they were doing but I don’t have the factory lights to test for you. Sorry man.
