I recently purchased a new RAM 1500 end of November from Dover Doge, NJ. The vehicle already has 2 recalls, and my audio systems skips every 3 seconds - all of this with under 5K miles. Great! The vehicle also has wrong bedding screws that are not flush with liner, and never came with owner's manual. I called dealership three times for owner's manual and never received it until I called 'general' RAM customer service off internet. Two recalls V04 and V07. Nobody has parts for V07 recall, and Dover Dodge doesn't expect it until closer to summer time. Further, Dover Dodge doesn't do service on Saturday, and if I want to drop the truck off during the week, they want me to RENT a vehicle because the money I shelled out for the truck apparently wasn't enough they are going to charge me for a rental. This is unreal. I am regretting this purchase more and more by the day, and if I could return the vehicle at this point I would.

How can a dealership charge for a rental? I even bought an extended 100,000 miles 10 year warranty on my Avalanche, and I still get a dealer loaner free. Same was true for my wife's Toyota. Dealership sucks. Go to another CJDR dealer. Any one of them can do the work.

Op it seems most of us also have those (2) recalls so yes we are kinda all in that same boat floating nowhere . As far as the rental, I was told that most dealerships don’t do loaners even when it’s warranty work. Now sadly to me that’s a load of crap regardless of how much we’ve paid. The only thing my Honda dealership will do is drop me off while my vehicle is there.

^^^. Where is your dealership located ?

Unfortunately we’ve all had to deal with both recalls and unfortunately there has been issues with the software on the radios that have caused issues. Also there isn’t an actual owners manual that comes with the truck. You have to request it. It is in the apps on your u-connect. The inconvenience definitely sucks, but it’s all covered so it’s at no cost to you. Most dealerships have done away with loaners. My last truck was a 2015 Silverado (and it had its fair share of recalls and other warranty related work) and the best that dealer would do was offer a shuttle to pick or drop you off. The dealer I bought my Ram from offers loaners, but it’s first come, first serve. Good luck to you and hopefully once you get these issues taken care of you’ll feel better about the truck.

Mine came with a hard copy of the manual and I didn’t have to ask for it. I also downloaded a pdf version from MOPAR.com.

Wow wish mine had. Mine came with basically a quick users guide and then another book which was basically warranty related stuff. Was told you have to request an actual manual.

Weird. Mine is a full manual. I have an early build (5/21). Maybe they stopped providing them on newer builds?

Mine was built about the same time so not sure then. I’ve been told that they are slowly getting away from including them to help cut costs but not sure if that’s true or not.

Just noticed, yours is an early built date too! The mystery continues....

When I bought my 2019 they handed me an owners manual with the extra fob. You are supposed to get an owners manual with it.

While I agree with you that a manual should be included, if you do a quick search on this forum, you will see a lot of guys saying it’s not included. Maybe some dealers are including them, but I know mine does not. It is in the u-connect app and that’s basically where I was told to look up anything that is related to the truck if I had questions that they didn’t answer at delivery. If I wanted a hard copy I would have to request it. That was my experience and some I’m sure are different.

My truck came with the user guide. I had to order (for free) the owners manual. My uconnect app doesn't have a copy of the manual, so I made sure I had a hard copy.

@RamCares told me they will reimburse something like $39 a day for a rental, up to 3 days. Personally I'd rather be told a good joke but that's the response I got....Not sure of the rates in your neck of the woods but that would nearly cover a sub-compact death trap that I'm sure I could drive from the back seat....FCA should make this hassle free. You might find a good dealer if you're lucky but just know that FCA policy is to tell you to go right on to Hell...
