I took a trip from my home in the Los Angeles area to San Jose.

Due to morning commute traffic and road construction on the 210 Freeway, I only managed to cover 30 miles the first hour. Then speeds picked up. Trip up 345.7 miles, 21.7mpg, 5:06:23 showing on the trip odometer. So average speed of 67.8 mph, which isn't too shabby . When I could use the cruise control, it was 73-75 mph. Actual hand calculated mpg 19.6.

Round trip 718.8 miles, 21.3mpg indicated, 11:33:17 elapsed time, for an average speed of 62.2 overall. Not bad, since I hit the afternoon commute and the road construction is still going on. Hand calculated mileage overall 20.0

The hand calculated mileage for just the return trip was 20.4 mpg
