OK, like many, many others, my 2019 1500 has a leaky rear window. The dealer ordered the parts some time ago now and they are yet to arrive! I'm wondering if Chrysler intends to buy us all new trucks when our's rust out prematurely due to this issue?

So I'm sure it is a joke post, but for the most part rust is preventable. Especially frame rust like the Tacomas. I just traded in my 13 year old Tacoma-not a speck of rust other than on the hitch.

Body panel rust is a little more difficult as you have to get in between the seems, inside the doors & tailgate, but it is doable. I used a combination of Fluid Film in cans from Lowes and Woolwax. Woolwax makes a great kit that can be set up on any compressor. It comes with wands to get up inside the frame. I used 2 quarts on my Tacoma last year with a crappy little 6 gallon Harbor Freight compressor. https://www.woolwaxusa.com/Woolwax®-Undercoat-Kit-4-Quarts-PRO-GUN-with-2-Extension-wands_p_42.html

Your truck's undercarriage will never be clean again after using.

Fluid Film is great for the inside of snowblowers too.

Good luck, my rear window took 8 weeks to come in, installed it leak continued. Then resealed brake light, still leaking. Going in today for glass specialist to work on it. One more time after that and no luck am starting lemon law complaint. I am spending more time at the dealership than I am at home. I'm tired of this truck.

I have a 2019 ram 1500 bighorn. I took it to dealership last year for a wet stained headliner. They replaced the high mount brake light. Recently my son while riding in the back seat noticed that the headliner was wet. Took it to dealership and they stated that it is a cracked seal in the rear powered window. Unfortunately I now have 43k miles on the truck. I called customer care but they couldn't escalate the complaint. Apparently there haven't been enough complaints yet. The dealership has only seen the cracked seal on the powered rear window version.

I found this on another Ram forum.

I work for a glass company that has been doing all the repair work for a few dealerships in the area. Most of the time it is the 3rd brake light but that is on all brands of trucks. They use a foam gasket and when it rains very hard it can't keep up and water will gain access into the cab. We fix this with silicone rtv. On the 19 and 20 rams there was a manufacturing flaw in the back window. The encapsulated part that bonds to the glass cracks allowing water in. The only way to fix it is to have to back window replaced. All of the ones I've have done have been under dealer warranty. If the headliner is messed up it will also get replaced. Dealerships don't do their own glass work and will out source it to a glass shop like the one I work for

Hopefully the 2021 Ram will last. My 2002 Jeep is just eaten alive by rust. Need to replace the oil pan now as it is leaking oil through the rust. I am waiting to see if the steering knuckles and the pumpkins rust through.

My Nissan Frontier on the other hand was spotless.

The truck isn't going to rust away from the 3rd brake light leak.

I re-sealed my 3rd brake light and haven't had any water intrusion since
