Will 2018 topper fit 2019-2020?

Hope someone can shed some light as far as the topper compatibility goes. Have a nice Leer XQ topper on my 2018 RAM Sport Short Bed. Will this topper/cap fit the 2019+ model?
This topper has a curved glass frame that fits on the outside edge of the tailgate.
Not sure if the 2019+ tailgate shape is different from the 2018 model. (I was told the bed is a bit higher but that would not be a problem, as long as the actual geometry of the bed is the same)
Thanks!

I bought a used one and wasn't sure but it was cheap, so figured why not try it. I can say it does fit, it is a little higher and a little wider but for the price I paid it was worth it. I have seen ones made for the 2019 and they do fit better but again it serves the purpose I needed it too.

Is there any way you could post some pictures? I'm sure many 4gen owners are thinking about retaining their toppers, if possible.

I read about the majority of the tonneau covers being compatible. I'd like, however,
to focus this thread on the toppers/hard cover and their compatibility Gen4 to Gen5.
I think any before and after photos would be very helpful....
Thanks!

I too am interested in this canopy compatibility between DS and DT trucks. I’m looking at a softopper but would like to know if a 4th gen canopy would work if I see a good Craigslist deal come along.

This is the camper I purchased cheap from I believe a 2017. It fits good enough for me on my 2019.

What exactly do you mean by “good enough for me” regarding the fit? Can you elaborate further. I’m think about going this same route. Prices for 19-20 toppers are a little shocking. Thanks

It sits a little taller at the cab but that doesn't bother me at all. it sits a little about 1/4" overhang of the bed sides again no an issue to me. I do not have any leaks or any other issues. I am happy with it and glad I went this route instead of buying a brand new one for 5x's the amount I paid. Only thing I would like is sliding windows.

Thanks for your input. This is reassuring. I for sure am going to go this route. The craigslist/letgo/OfferUp/fbmarketplace search is going into high gear. I figure this will be a good holdover until I find a used ‘19+ cap. Also, I probably won’t be keeping it on full time...mostly for camping/road trips. What about paint colors? Did they change much? I have billet silver. Was the previous generation silver pretty close?

Bump

Has anyone else put a 18 cap on a 19+?

Im looking for a used cap to only throw on when going on vacation. I dont care if the fit is not perfect as long as its dry and secure.

Do any brands fit better than others?

For less than the price of a 4th gen cap you could buy a softopper and roll it up when you don’t need it. I recently bought one and quite like it. Not for everyone, say if you need a roof rack. Those costs add up.

I would get the soft topper if I didn't get such a good deal on the used 4th gen topper that would be perfect for me.

Who makes your topper?

My goal was to find a used hard cap. I really didn't want to spend more than $400.
