Which tow hitch would fit?

My 2019 Laramie was ordered without tow hitch
I'm looking to add one

In dont think this this part would fit

as i already seem to have the Bar:


But then its unclear which part i'm missing, how to fit the square reciever?

I assume that bar has to be removed and an actual hitch put in it's place. I'm sure the standard mopar or aftermarket hitch will fit in it's place, nothing special. Sad Ram spends the money to develop that bar without just using the hitch...

Try your local u-haul dealer, they're usually pretty reasonable

It looks like the bar you have supports putting a tow ball in the rear bumper. Like Bt10 said, the Mopar hitch should completely replace that bar.

Go look at a truck on the dealer lot or showroom with the receiver. My truck has the tubular bit that sits laterally so I think you just need to bolt on a receiver. Do you have the wiring hookups?

That should be the part. The existing cross bar gets removed.

Wow, so the whole thing gets swapped out. Might want to find a wrecked one at a salvage yard you can pull this from.

I’m bored. It looks like the genuine part is all one piece as mentioned above, at around $250 before shipping. The PN for the DT RAM is 82215222AD, but confirm with your VIN.

Or you can save by adding a third party one that bolts onto the tubular part you have. That seems to around $100.

Can say for the Ram, but I know on my old Tacoma, every aftermarket tow hitch I looked at was rated for 1000#'s less then the factory tacoma hitch. Make sure you are comparing equal parts.

As mentioned, that part limits you to 6,000 lbs tow capacity max. Could be less since we don't know what the rating is for the hitch you have now. If you need more than 6k capacity, you'll have to replace it with a class IV hitch which is a bolt on replacement you can do yourself.
