I found a dealer in my area that has the exact truck that I want, there are other dealers in the area but they don't have exactly what I want. Doing research, the dealer with my exact truck has a ton of bad reviews and seem to be shady, is it worth it to deal with these guys ?

See if the dealers you like can give you a fair price and call the bad dealership for that truck. Won’t always happen but it might.

I recognize the temptation but boy I hate to give bad dealers my business. Where you at? Maybe others from your area can confirm or ease your worries?

Definitely agree with giving the good dealers your business. Grab the VIN and they'll get it for you.

A good dealer is worth a couple thousand $$ IMO. I’d see if your dealer of choice could get that truck for you, dealers trade inventory all the time.
I do this all the time. As long as your preferred dealer has something the bad one wants. I used to think it was model for model (like limited for limited) but found out that is not true. I suppose they may not if they have bad blood between them but I have never had a problem with a dealer making me a deal in a vehicle they didn’t have and then getting that vehicle.

I am in kind of a similar situation, I bought a Limited at not the closest dealer (price) with the expectation of getting service done there. It was my fault (fresh paint sickness) for not reading the contract at the point of sale after mentioning numerous times that I wanted no extras but the tire/wheel insurance was included . A expensive lesson in "BUYER BEWARE" that I will not do again. Even though it was my fault I felt violated and when contacted the selling dealer would not agree to a refund. I will not be back to that dealer and will have to face the humiliation/scorn of going to my more local dealer for service/warranty.

SO, tell the good another dealers (nicely) that if they will not arrange for a transfer that you will buy it from the bad dealer and then have them (good dealer) do the service/warranty work ?? :)

Ive had my local dealer look at

Good dealer will certainly do a transfer but the hold back could be different depending what the the dealer with the truck wants in return

I feel your pain. I stop in quite often to check out the local dealers selection...but I will not buy or service with them.

I found a dealer about 45 mins away...they will get my next purchase and the chance to do my service and warrenty work

I had the same sictuation. I was looking for a specific color (white with brown) and wanted adaptive cruise with the 12inch screen they could tow 12k lbs. I searched and found exactly the one. It was 1.5 hours from me. I went to be dealer and drove it. I then went to the dealer near my home and negotiated a fair price. Signed contract and was ready to pick up after they went and got it. Well the next day I was told it sold. I ended up buying a truck but still have a bad taste as the truck I was told was sold still sits on that lot 1.5 hours from me.

Aka that dealer that had the truck wouldn't let your dealership have it
That’s correct. Contract was signed , loan was set and my down payment was deposited. The dealership would not release the truck to the dealer I purchased it from.
