Hey all, I was under my truck and randomly on top of the transfer case skid plate I saw a piece of metal. I reached up and uncovered some broken metal. Im pretty sure it is a cv axle bearing but I've got no clue how it got there. My axles are good, maybe from a past owner repair? Finding it under the transfer case is what makes me question what the part is!

Google lens search says it’s a CV joint cage. Like you said, probably a past repair.
