Ive been chasing the clunk an squeaks since installing my 5100s as well…when messing with the front i ugga duuga’d the upper strut nits and snapped a stud afyer replacing the upper mount ive just stopped fuggin with it all and have come to terms with the clubk happening when its wet out…at least ive come to terms with it for now.

Not a grade 10 but i know your frustration

Installed the Tuffy center console safe. Super quick and easy install. Looks great and secure for temporary storage. Unfortunately my sliding tray is now useless, unless 1 inch means anything... Not sure why the tray is different on the Limiteds vs other trims.

Well, maybe where you live water boils at 180, but where I live it definitely does not boil until it gets to 212 degrees F. In an ambient pressure environment, like inside an engine crankcase.

It might not boil, but it will still evaporate well below boiling point. Which is part of why we have a PCV system on engines.

I had to it was such a great deal. Its about the size I wanted for my rear winch so I just had to.
Worst case scenario I sell it to fund another. Any recommendation on rope? I've heard some weird stuff about weight ratings.

I worked at a place that I assembled custom wiring harnesses had a CnC wire machine that was over 100k. It pulled printed and stripped the ends. They used barrels of 18g black wire. No aviation grade but I could use the PC to make it print what I wanted in what intervals with relative ease. It would do just about any gauge wire also but there were dies and adjustments that needed to be made so it was primarily for the black 18g. Now they have a automated wire termination machine.

haven't really looked into ropes myself
but all i can say is get synthetic rope!

not much today.
spent $15 to rinse it at coin op car wash because it's too hot to do it in the day time, and I couldn't run pressure washer in the middle of the night when it's cool. I hate it when I'm done washing and as I dry half of the truck the other half just dry by itself leaving all kinds of watermarks. so F it, just a rinse anyways. did make a big mess at the coin op though because I sprayed the underside to remove more Arctic mud

also applied more steel-it on my sliders in preparation to apply grip tape next week. I slid one too many times when it's wet so... funny how I made it through the muddy Arctic and then finally decided I had enough and do it almost a year later

going with contour lines. Had to wait till next week because I bought one roll and realized it's not enough lol

You would have to be cranking out a lot of wiring harnesses a day to make it worth it. When a company is focused on wiring and control boxes 100k is a small investment when they send out stuff that is 8-35k eash.

Pretty close. I took $400 from my emergency stash but I stopped for drinks and headache meds. I thought I had cash on me but broke a $100 bill out of the $400 so I could negotiate.
Clearly getting it at $400 was the lowest he was going to go until I realized $386 was all I had

im only doing installs and doing custom length harnesses across various platforms as the need comes up. if i'm cranking out 5 cars a day then that'd make sense!

Then why don't I have that problem in my 2001 or any of the cars I own? Oh wait I know because google says water boils at 212. Moisture doesn't have to boil to evaporate, that can happen at a lower temp. After it rains the water will evaporate at ambient temperatures.

Or level up really big and get the wire stamping machine. I do aviation wire harnesses and every wire has a identifier we "stamp" onto it every 6" along the entire run

Contact you local FARO rep, you can normally pic up a small ARM and LLP fairly reasonable, then get Design X for the software. Both of them are a little on the higher end, but the stuff you can do once you learn how to use them...buy once, cry once

We use wrap around harness destination labels on each end and overall harness label every 6' on every harness, on top of every wire being stamped individually. most of our harnesses have wire overbraid and tech flex on them as well.

Yep all of our overbraid is just like to production A/C also, the only difference is we omit disconnects in the wing/body fairing, horiz/vertical stab and Master Power tiles on our flight control test beds. On out Integrated test rigs (all Electrical testing) we have all the disconnects and anything hooked in to the wiring even a simulated APU.
