What did you do to your Ram today???

I almost did this, she's on life support now but I knew someone here had a good argument on what to get.
I'm assuming this is a case for larger CCA being much better. I was hoping to make it to fall so I'd have a fresh battery for my winter snow trip.
I'm holding off until I get some advice or I can't drive anymore...

I was wanting E rated tires for the truck and ended up pulling the trigger on a good sale from firestone. 15% new tires and the install.

I loved the Bridgestone dueler AT tires I had on my jeep so I went with the new set of those.

Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent 275/65/18

They are definitely a bit more blocky than I had anticipated but they run dead, silent, and our smoothest button on the highway. Only been a day, but despite being heavier, the truck accelerates easier. Time will tell, but I am looking forward to running them for a while.

Upgrade to H8. You'll need the bigger size battery blanket. I always grab Walmart Platinum AGM w/ 4 year full replacement, plus while traveling there is a Walmart just about everywhere. I've never had an issue and the money saved bought beer!!

Battery blanket 5033397AE, confirm before buying

For reference, I have stretched the original battery blanket over the h8, but if a new easier to fit size is cheap, by all means…

I got 2 new batteries under warranty in my '25 Limited. It happened on Friday, but as soon as I got my truck back from the dealer I loaded up and hauled *** on a weekend trip.

2100 miles and they said both batteries had bad cells.

And, just FYI, when that happens while you're driving, you get all kinds of warning lights appearing on the dash, but the engine keeps running. And, the best surprise, even though the engine is still running, your power brakes don't work anymore!

I was very, very lucky I did not run over anyone from behind! All my warning lights came on as I was going 80 MPH down I-20. I got off at the next exit. Fortunately, I started to attempt to slow down for the exit very early. It was only then that I discovered the brakes weren't working. At least, any power assist was not. When I pressed the pedal HARD, it did slow down - gradually.
Very similar issue with our 2023 Grand Wagoneer, batteries went bad after 2 weeks and the Jeep was not happy, so many errors! New battery and now its happy again, bad cell in one of the batteries. Tech said they are seeing several new batteries fail within weeks of installation. At this point its a luck of the draw.....

It SEEMS as though my PWU (proximity wake up) is not working again. I just came out from eating lunch and it did not activate. I have now put my voltmeter in my driver's seat to remind me.

Maybe it didn't activate because of something simple like I didn't get far enough away from the truck while I was in the restaurant eating lunch. But, when I next leave my house - where I KNOW I am far enough away - if it fails to activate again I will check the voltages on both batteries before I start the truck up.

I have a working theory that perhaps my backup battery is not getting properly charged. The dealer tech said my PWU wasn't working before because of low battery voltage.

My theory is that PWU was working from Friday, when they installed new batteries, until at least last night. Now it seems as though it's not.

Maybe the backup battery isn't getting charged properly and that's why PWU had quit working for me and, since I didn't notice and the backup battery continued like that, maybe its low voltage somehow put an extra load on the main battery, which killed it. So, both mine didn't die at the same time. I just didn't notice that one was dead UNTIL they both were dead.

If my theory holds water, I should find that one of my batteries is low and the other is okay. If that is the case, then I'll be heading back to the dealer.

This whole two battery setup does not seem very well thought out. I mean, in my instrument cluster it just shows 1 Voltmeter. It only seems to make sense to me to have a voltmeter on the dash if you're going to have 1 for each battery. If they are not isolated electrically, so that they can be monitored individually, then what is really the point of having 2 of them at all?

Mopar has always had issues with not properly charging the 2nd battery. Grand Cherokees had this issue since 2016

Those have a ton of siping in them. They should make great snow and rain tires.

That's why asked 🤪
Battery blanket 5033397AE is for the H8 or H7?
Thank you (y)

Been pretty frustrated honestly. I've been having some vibration on the truck that's been driving me nuts. I keep up with my rotations and balancing of my tires. Very strict with every 5k miles. I've got General Grabber ATX 275/65r20s and I'm not very pleased with them at this point. They're currently right under 34,000 miles and still well within warranty. Yesterday I decided I was sick of it after changing a wheel hub bearing assembly that was slightly snagging, brakes/rotors (had some uneven wear on passenger side) and an alignment.

Got the tires road forced balanced. Front Passenger came back at 40lbs and Rear Driver came back at 35lbs. Explains why when I rotate them they get slightly better but then worse. Seems like every 3000 miles or so they really get bad. Truck is driving a little better but it's still enough to bother the heck out of me.

Apparently 40lbs is right at the threshold for acceptable on LT tires so I doubt I can get a free replacement via warranty/discount tire certs but I think I'm about ready to try.

Looks like I'll be buying a new set of tires before long.

I also upgraded with the Walmart EverStart Platinum AGM H8 - $180. But I didn't wait and replaced my OEM battery after 3 years (last year). I never got the blanket.
