Backflip MX4 went on yesterday. I have the bed utility group so the tie down rails were a concern as to how they were going to get along with the cover. I was very impressed and full installation took about 30 minutes. Unlike the rails on the other versions that clamp to the bed rails the MX4 incorporates itself into and uses the existing rails for the tie downs. It made installation very easy and fast. Ramboxes open to full and tie downs function as they should. I am coming from 15 years of using roll-n-lock and this is my first folding top. The main pro's and cons I have observed so far are that with the roll-n-lock you could close the top from the same position you stand in to close the tailgate. You cannot do this with the MX. The roll-n-lock took up about 12" of the bed, the MX can be folded out of the way to and only takes up 4" at the top. In about 3 minutes I can have the MX out of the truck. The roll-n-lock is essentially a permanent install.

I got my uneven tailgate cables worked out. I'm satisfied now that the load on the gate is evenly shared and there is no threat of the tailgate bending. I filled in about 2mm of the hanger of the tailgate cable with a welder and used a dremmel to shape it until the cables were perfectly equal in load on the gate.

Put together my own. I did TGC rear 1” lift, Ready Lift control arms, and Motofab 3” front blocks. Time will tell if those were a mistake as opposed to the 2.5” but I don’t off-road at all with this truck. All told I saved about $300-350 vs the 3.5” Ready Lift. The truck has about 3/4” rake to the rear. If I was doing it again I might go with a 1.5” rear lift.

What updates are you haveing done that relate to the MPG? I am noticing an average of about 13-14 MPG with my etorque now??

I will find out hopefully wednesday. I understand there is a new controller for the etorque and new mapping.

I installed the mopar mud flaps, rear fender well liners, mopar hard tri fold tonneau cover and 2 battery powered led light strips under rails in bed.

While I appreciate the thought behind this, I'd be worried about the metal being brittle now that you've welded and ground it, and now have made that the weak point in the load bearing system. A little tailgate flex would be very minor in comparison to the hanger letting go when you have a high load on the gate... Not trying to bust your balls, but just food for thought and words of caution.
