Had a weird occurrence today. I’ve had my truck for about five weeks and 1300 miles. I have zero issues with it until today. I got in it and started it up and a felt weird vibration and audible low pitched sound. It cut in and out several times and seemed to stop so I put it in drive and drove off. About a half mile down the road it happened again. It almost felt and sounded like I was driving with the e-brake on but it did it with the truck in park and while I was driving. So, this happened a few times before I could pull into a parking lot. I got out of the truck to see if I could pinpoint where it was coming from but it didn’t happen again.. I shut it off and restarted and drove home and it did not happen again. Has anybody else had any similar experiences? I have a Big Horn Sport 4x4 Crew with a HEMI and 3:21.

If it is coming from an indistinct direction, and considering the other experiences written up elsewhere, I might suspect the ANC first. Do you think it is possible the vibration noise is coming through the speakers around the cab? Tons of writeups on low hum, droning noises coming from the noise cancelling system that ironically is supposed to cancel noise. Can you make it come and go by varying the rpm of the engine? That’s how I confirmed mine.

I’m not saying you don’t have a mechanical problem as I’m not in your car hearing what you are hearing, but from your description the ANC is one possible direction to investigate. Good luck.

Hello, thanks for your response. No, I don't think it's the ANC. I did rev the engine and it did not affect the noise I was hearing. Plus, there was a noticeable vibration that went along with it. It definitely sounded mechanical to me. Maybe it was the dampers malfunctioning? Not sure. It came and went several times on the short drive until I pulled into the parking lot and then it hasn't happened since. Drove it 30 miles to work this morning with no issues.

I had the same thing happen to me, it definitely sounds and felt like it was the active dampeners. I was able to get it to stop by turning the truck off and turning it back on. Mine the vibration and sound only seemed to occur when accelerating.

yeah, that’s what I thought it was. Kind of sucks, especially if it happens while driving on the highway or somewhere that it’s not safe to pull over and shut the truck off..

Since it is so random and hasn't happened since, I haven't taken it to the dealership because I know I will get the standard answer "unable to duplicate".

Hey Moosem, I feel your pain. I've been all over the internet and I was sure that somebody would have the answer to my deep bass pattern less vibration that carries though out the whole cab. It's not always there and that's the part that drives me crazy. It just comes and goes when it wants. I can't make it show up on demand, however I can usually make it go away. I just simply pull over and turn off the the engine and restart.

I hope to find some answers.

Same issue here just purchased my 2019 Longhorn 2 days ago test drive was great didn't hear/feel the issue until the next day. However I can duplicate the issue at the following speeds 25-30, 45-50, 65 it's the same exact low hum w/vibration. It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the cab acceleration/braking has not effect on it, will happen while coasting at the mentioned speeds. I did open the driver/passenger window a bit when the noise started but it had not effect the noise continued which leads me to believe the ANC is not at fault? I went to the dealer this afternoon had the sales guy ride with me and he heard the issue as well and of course was very puzzled. It's being looked at tomorrow will let you know what I find out.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie , have the same problem with vibration thru steering wheel , seat, pedals and can feel in armrest on the door! Happens all the time from about 1400 RPM's thru 1750 RPM's. And same range of speeds like all else. Smoothes out aron 72 mph. Took to dealer and left for better than 3 weeks while off for foot surgery and they tell me the usual BS , sorry can't duplicate....Where do we go from here? Any help?

Interesting. My Big Horn with the 3.6L does the same thing at 2000 RPM. Pedals, wheel, floor, seat, all buzz/vibrate. Is it the exhaust? My dealer says it’s a characteristic of the vehicle, but it doesn’t seem like it should be normal...
